That really depends on what games you like. But I'm assuming you're looking for something more accurate in terms of firearms, in which case I'd suggest metro 2033, rainbow six siege, and sniper elite 4.

That's the closest you're probably going to get to simulators for a console. More hardcore stuff is pretty much exclusive to the PC, do to market reason, expenses, and control schemes.

It was as if Druckmann had locked himself in a sensory deprivation tank and did nothing but burn Anita videos directly into his retinas for 16 hours a day. The result was Nadine. An invincible woman of color who is so strong, she defies the game's control scheme and turns off the block button. What type of shooting mechanics would work in a Fallout game?
Keep in mind that gun-play would have to mesh well with the RPG systems standard to any of the good main series Fallout games.

Different types of ammo for each gun, ammo crafting, weapon degradation, upgradable weapons, perks that affect weapon usage and lots of different types of weapons (different actions and such) as well as weapon skill sets (heavy weapons, one handed weapons, ect).

We used to have this in Fallout, but the latest game got rid of it for some reason.

I was more referring to how actually firing weapons and getting into fire-fights would feel, not the (arguably fantastic) aspects of ammo and multitudes of different classes of firearm.

I would think that getting into a gunfight shouldn't come as a surprise. Maybe the occasional raider ambush, but just happening a group of powder gangers shouldn't result in them instantly taking potshots at you. There should be some dialogue, some posturing. The NPCs should seem to think through the situation. Are 2 guys with a .410 shotgun and a switch blade really going to take on the guy in modded power armor and a recreational nuke launcher? Not inherently IMO. Having health and armor values is an unavoidable trait of modern GURPS-derived RPG systems, having them be unrealistically high is an artistic or design choice. For example, less people would have bitched about the tankier enemies in The Division if they were actual tanks/armored vehicles/powered armor/steroided grizzly bears. Would have made for more enemy variety too. On the other hand, you could have it as part of the damage system that higher level enemies (No more than 100 HP even for endgame bosses, with ~50 being starting with average character traits) wear helmets and rifle plates on the front and on more areas as they level. To combat this, strength builds can carry weapons that punch right through, agility builds can flank and hit unprotected side and rear areas and stealth/sniper builds have the leisure to target unprotected areas, plus a speech/charisma build can just walk up and tell them to an hero.

RPGs do not exclusively have to have human enemies. Fallout has a multitude of creatures which can conceivably have the ability to tank bullets. Humans, too, can wear a range of armors. Human character additionally have varying amounts of natural endurance, which makes some characters stronger than others.

Getting rid of donut drake, turning Ellie into an interracial carpet muncher (which felt forced as fuck after doing the same kind of homosexual reveal for Bill) and literally everything to do with Nadine in Uncharted 4.

ND went down a slippery slope after it responded to feminist critics who said that female characters in TLOU were tools that died to move the plot forward, which is insane when you consider what happened to Robert, Henry, Sam and David. Meanwhile all the named female characters you see besides Ellie were leaders of communities (Tommy's wife and Marlene) or were well respected (Tess).

He's made tweets where he posts the mocap actors for thou 2 and they're all women. People asked him if he was going to tone down the "personal politics" and he was like "no". Journalists have asked him about the scripted unwinnable fights with Nadine in Uncharted 4, where she throws Drake around and pins him against walls dispite being half his size. He's said he kicked out a play tester who complained about it. He didn't care about her reception as a Mary Sue afterwards and put her in the next game as a central character. The audience for the game's reveal stopped cheering when Nadine's face showed up.

You initially wanted the reasons why I expect some kind of feminist crap in TLOU2 because of the developers. Those are my reasons. I'm not just picking this out of the blue to annoy you here. Sheesh.
