Ashlands General - New Map Edition
>What is Ashlands?
Ashlands is a /k/-based writefaggotry based on how the world would look and act if the Yellowstone volcano erupted.
>Are there (((creatures)))?
Yes. In the Deep Zone and Dead Zone (nobody goes that far so nobody actually can confirm), there are /k/ style monsters. Skinwalkers, subhumans, ash people, etc. Keep it kinda realistic and to the theme of Fallout, Metro, and the like. Most of them are humans that are so barbaric they might as well be another species altogether, but some genetic mutation has occured resulting in weird shit.
>Get off my board, this isn't a /k/ thing!
Shut up, yes it is.
>Why not keep it confined to Writefaggotry General?
You can post your ashlands stories in their general, but if you want better feedback from other Ashlanders, try posting it in the Ashlands threads.

The rest should be in the archive

The map is a work in progress. All currently existing factions will be added to it.
That map isnt up to date. The appalacian df should extend to the Delaware river

The map is a work in progress
Does the map have a legend? Who is who?
>>34360715
This is the previous map
https://pastebin.com/p49023Nk
Some writefaggotry.
>>34360727
That's a really old map, for the record. It doesn't include the Republic of New York or the Appalachian Defense Force. New map will have everything currently on the wiki.
>>34360686
>>34360736
I feel that only one fag is pushing the Appalachian defense force
Similar to what happened with Ohio
>>34360727
ftfy
>>34360744
I can tell you thats not true since i didnt come uo with the appalacian df but im in that area and would like to see it expanded
>>34360778
Now this is an old map
Right towards the end of last year
I wonder what happened to all the screen caps
>>34360805
This is the most up to date map, I put it together
>nth for hellish ash lakes calcifying creatures alive
>>34361005
>>34361005
>>34361017
Are these real or an artist's rendition? Sauce?

There ya go m8
>>34361065
Damn. As metal as that is, it must have been a terrible way to go.
You fuckers want old maps?
I created the first wave of them back in the very first threads.
>>34361293
It was the 8th rendition where I finally added some fobs and specific areas.
Hell, I haven't seen these threads for almost an entire year.
The first map was made almost a year ago now.
This appeals to my STALKER boner. Does anyone have green texts from previous threads? Haven't been on /k/ in two weeks.
>>34361415
Haha
Do you remember that one guy who wanted Ohio to be some kingdom of its own?
I remember that everyone told him to fuck off, but he demanded I change the map.
Final version of the map so far.
>>34362032
Is the storm a perpetual hurricane or some anomaly?
>>34362163
It's more of an area where frequent storms hit. A much longer hurricane season due to the changing climate.
>>34362032
Great lakes confederacy should definitely go into Ontario, it just makes sense in terms of trade and security.
>>34360664
>subhumans
You mean niggers?
>>34362032
So does the Great Lakes Coalition and the Tennessee Expeditionary Forces have a sort of alliance/treaty?
>>34362839
I guess so? This stuff was set up a while ago, I was just updating the map so it wasn't MS Paint.
>>34362163
I explained it a little bit here, but I'm planning on making a full page for it once I have some free time to read about meteorology in more detail.
So are the Alaskans going to shoot their way through a bunch of faggot Canadians to get to the mainland to trade? Do they have established routes?
>>34362949
http://ashlands.wikia.com/wiki/Carolina_Confederacy
Forgot link.
>>34360736
>People's Republic of New York maybe
>>34360686
Wrong. A general consensus was found that due to 1. Geography: The entire land area of the state of Pennsylvania is in no way all Appalachia
2. Culture: No proud PA Dutch farmer ubermensch would ever want to be associated with filthy slavic coal-hunkies from the hills if they were given the opportunity to redraw the lines.
Whoever decided that ADF's borders should be so expansive is painfully ignorant of the region's geography (most likely some Europoor, Cuckifornian, or product of a woefully inadequate West Virginia public education system)
>>34360828
>>34360805
You are both wrong. I made this map by actually spray painting my faction in at 5am before work last week.
>>34362032
>Finally on the map
Thanks family! It only took a year but we made it haha
>>34362950
There's a Northwest Passage from Maine to Alaska that New Columbia uses to trade for oil in exchange for some unspecified resources.
Additionally there are some trade routes from Alaska through Vancouver that lead to the Pacific Northwest and allow for trade with New Venice and the Lone Fort State.
>>34363814
>There's a Northwest Passage from Maine to Alaska that New Columbia uses
I'm going to need some elaboration on this one.
>>34363751
Now if one wanted to see it expand ONLY in the mountains of PA to the Delaware River, there would be justification for that. The creator of the ADF was a greedy and pompous ass who thought he could simply claim all of the Mid-Atlantic with no explanation into how/ why, that is why it was cut back.
Patchfag here, working on a Yellowstone patch, recommendations welcome.
>>34364015
What it's based off
>>34364015
Could you try a smoking caldera, or would that not look as good?
Nice patch though
>>34364022
Just take this patch, make everything greyscale, make the trees dead, ash piled up on the ground, and instead of the bison, give me a skinwalker
>>34364060
So >>34364015?
I'm working on a skeleton bison, there's already a skinwalker national park service patch.
>>34363882
Think Mad Max on ice
New Colombian convoys leave Highgate Springs, Vermont and enter Philipsburg, Canada and then proceed through Ottawa, skirting the Great Lakes as they proceed through Canada. As a result there may be some minimal contact between the Federation and the Great Lakes Coalition, but I digress. After Winnipeg the convoy begins heading northwest, through Yorktown, and Saskatoon. Finally they travel from Edmonton, to Grande Prairie, and finally pass through Whitehorse before arriving in Alcan, Alaska. The convoy then returns down the same route.
The entire journey typically takes two to four weeks each way.
The convoys typically carry goods manufactured in New Columbia in exchange for Alaskan oil. The majority of the transportation is several dozen tankers which typically carry Alaskan-bound vehicles on the outside of their tanks, and a number of escorts to assist the vehicles on their long, dangerous journey North.
>>34364120
Ditch the smoke plume since it's a caldera volcano, ditch the red sky for a soft grey, ditch the green grass for a dark grey, add a skeleton bison and you might have something
>>34364207
Okay, it's an overland/ ice road. When I hear Northwest Passage, I assume the mythical sea route through the polar ice cap of yore.
Neat you mention Highgate, I used to go there to help my uncle sometimes.
>>34360664
So what happens to Toronto and upper Canada (where all the relevant parts are)?
>>34364266
Yeah I should have been clearer about that originally. I decided to call it Northwest Passage because the name was cool, and the route was northwestern.
That's neat though.
Maps ya'll could make use of
>>34364297
Megapolitan areas of NA
Fuck the Mormon Guard.
Is this map any accurate? How much of an effect would 1-5 mm have on the land?
>>34364313
Why isn't the Mormon state of Deseret a thing?
The Mormons featured heavily in the original greentexts of Ashlands.
>>34360664
I recommend you guys back up and archive all your past threads as pdfs in case desu goes down.
>>34364351
It was once called Utah, but when the End Times came, we were born again in Christ and Ash.
>>34364579
Does the Mormon State still produce M1911s?

Some writefaggotry I wrote a out Mexico
>writefaggotry merely related to k is allowed
>gun politics belong in another board
Sure makes sense guys
>>34366428
Probably belongs on /skout/, a new 8ballchan board made for this exact sort of thing, but I doubt it's going anywhere at this point
>>34364207
I like this, it incorporates the Trans-Canada really well, and it doesn't disturb my plans for the CPR
