Whats the point of a rebounding hammer? Not a sig hate thread...but why that design over a traditional design?

explain?

How do you have a rebounding hammer on a pistol? It cocks after you fire it.

Its at rest in pic related. Ok, put it in single action, it looks like what a spur hammer would look like in single action. Fire it. the hammer hits the firing pin, rebounds, and rests at pic related.
This happens with dry fire, another round in the mag and last round, the hammer never sits on the slide.

you must be lost

It's just one of Sig's safeties. It resembles a half-cocked position, if dropped on the hammer it won't hit the firing pin even though they also have a firing pin block inside the slide. So basically a redundant safety.

How about educating instead of being a bitch?

Sorry, im not talking about an action like SAO or DAO or SA/DO. The gun being in battery has nothing to do with what happens to hammer after it falls in this case.

Because Sigs are for people who need to feel special

It's an excellent way to get shit stuck between hammer and firing pin and causing malfunctions.
