I wouldn't go as far as you have, but you have a point.

For literally millions of years people survived with significantly worse tools. Even into the middle ages steel/iron knives would get shit on by any modern steel at all. Any further back and the comparison becomes retarded, we're comparing steel with iron, then bronze, then fucking stone.

And those fucks using their tiny flint fragments wrapped in treebark (NO FULL TANG, NOT EVEN PINNED, JUST GLUED ON WITH TREE SAP! THE HORROR! PROBABLY HEAT-TREATED IN GODDAMN AFRICA!) survived in a much, much harsher world than us. Want to eat? You have to kill something. Then butcher it. Even if you think you'll take the easy way out and harvest plants like a goddamn berrypicker you will starve. Without agriculture, you're not getting your essential proteins. Further cutting plant fibers and shit would wear down stone way faster than squishy meat. So you have to butcher animals. With your tiny little chunk of sharp flint. Also other things are trying to kill you. Like lions. And the heat. Or if you're lucky enough to be in Europe, you're still fucked because it's the the goddamn ice age. And there's still lions, because humanity hasn't eradicated them for being fucking assholes yet.

So basically it's kinda assinine the way some people talk about knives, when much worse works for much more serious conditions. That doesn't necessarily mean you should get the shittest knife you can, but perfection neither exists nor is necessary.

I got this on eBay for like $8, was a toy novelty at first, until a tightened up the blade screw and added some Sentry Solution dry lubricant on it and gun oil, I sharpened it without even scratching the blade, and its razor sharp and flips open like a switch blade! Damn good knife and my EDC. Go Gooks!
