Gotta push that agenda whenever possible bruh. Soros won't pay me otherwise.

That's pretty lazy on the part of the weapon designers.

Totally, but to no-guns normies they would normally be none the wiser

to be fair an AR-15 is quite dangerous

Its not even a real gun, its a replica, like an MGC M16.
>>
>>34347550
Nearly every single star wars gun is a real gun with some shit slapped on or taken off.

Clone troopers and scout troopers used an mg34 Im pretty sure.

Stormie's use a sterling SMG with a cute little 10 round mag and a scope on it

Rebel's use an stg-44 with an added scope and no stock think

Han solo uses a mouser c-96 with a scope and flash hider setup

There are others but I forget.

I agree though they could have dressed it up a tad more.
>>
>>34347609
Fun fact the sterling scope isn't actually a firearm scope, it's a spotting scope off of a tank. No reticle, no wonder they can't hit anything.
>>
>>34347550
>>34347609
Also jawas use an Enfield smle that was cut down and put a can on the muzzle. I can't remember if that was some sort of actual flare gun/grenade launcher or if I'm just making that up.
>>
>>34347566
How so?
>>
>>34347609

This right here

The author is a fucking idiot
>>
>>34347618
No shit?

Seems like it would be cheaper to just buy cheap .22 scopes or something

I feel like for the low budget this movie had a lot of expensive shit went into it.
>>
>>34347646
I imagine back then these things were pennies on the dollar.
That scope will toss you back about 200-300 nowadays but in the 70s they were probably giving them away.
>>
>>34347630
>>34347566
I thought this at first too but it actually doesn't.

There is some lyrical works on Han Solo and his blaster.
Look, "Han was right".

Han is always right, when it comes to guns.

He's borrowing form the well worn axiom of "Bring a gun, bring all your friends with guns, and their friends with guns."

Any of you use twitter? It would be nice to actually educate some of these people, not just talk shit about them. I bet this guy would totally lose his shit if he knew people like Alton Brown and Brad pitt were gun people
>>
>>34347766
I really don't think this would shake people up as much as you want to believe.
>>
>>34347766
Anecdotal evidence lol but, my experience is that even if it seems like you've convinced them or at least got them to question their premises, the next day they are right back to square one as if it had never happened.
>>
>>34347532
I use to tell people I hated Star Wars just to get a rise, but now I really do hate it. I can't seem to get away from it.
>>
>>34347823
I've gotten bored with it and apparently now they're just making shit political. I played the new battlefront and holy shit it was such a let down.
>>
>>34347625
I think it was a line launcher to fire a monkeys fist attached to a rope to move supplies from ship to ship.
>>
>>34347843
I've seen the original 3, and #1. After that I didn't care. I really didn't care before that.

Hell, the damn theme song was #1 the day I was born.
>>

>>34347662
The majority of them were resin casts. If it makes you feel better they probably only had a couple real ones then made a bunch of resin copies.

The fact that it's a real gun they dressed up as a scifi one is a pretty direct call back to the old movies.

>>34347609
Don't forgot we had a straight up M60 space door gunner. And didn't TFA have storm troopers using dressed up glocks?

Also alot of the guns in this movie were based around ARs- another pic to follow.

I thought I saw an AK based one too when I was watching, but I haven't seen any videos to back that up.

I wish they would've stuck with the original rebel helmet, i feel like the prop dept just got lazy. They look too much like vietnam era GIs to me
>>
>>34347710
Because it's America's favourite rifle.
>>
>>34347980
Pretty much, which is kind of cool. The original trilogy was based heavily off WWII dog fight memes, they went inna jungle for Rogue One.

>>34348014
>They look too much like vietnam era GIs to me
That was basically the point.
>>
>>34347766
his article is pretty clearly propaganda, there is no amount of educating that will make him sacrifice his paycheck
>>
>>34347823
original 3 were good. everything after those movies that is related is just a cash grab. must suck to be one of the original actors and watch as your legacy is slowly killed by B-rate actors and Disney.
>>
>>34347766
Brad Pitt has worked with the brady campaign. He's of the "guns for me, not for thee" camp.
>>
>>34348046
>That was basically the point.

why
>>
>>34348092
>why
Because they wanted to pay homage to the fact that the old movies were heavily based off WWII while making it a bit darker and not about dog fighting. Therefore they went with the Vietnam aesthetic.
>>
>>34347940
>>34347915

Rogue One was fucking based dude.

>i feel like the prop dept just got lazy
This. The rebels in ANH use these big slick white helmets with integrated comms, while in ESB and ROTJ they wore what was broadly equivalent to a modern bump helmet. The helmets and flak jackets in the two new movies are a little TOO contemporary, feels very low effort. Plus the Stormtrooper gunners in TFA wear airshit Chicom chest rigs, I really wish they'd future'd it up a bit more. Like, while the OT drew from a number of sources, they were very distinctly their own thing visually, whereas the new Disney shit is too derivative and when its not that then its just self-referential, its just a bit boring.
>>
>>34348186
lel
>>
>>34347940
That's pretty boring, though I suppose them using an FAL or something as the pattern would be more complicated and expensive than just buying a bunch of AR15 airsofties.
>>
>>3434770
When you take it out of an anti gun context there is nothing wrong with what he said

>in a bad persons hand an ar can be a very deadly weapon

>ar 15s are incredibly controversial

>ar15s can withstand thousands of rounds and plenty of abuse

Doesn't mean they should be banned of course
