Did you ask him why he hates the 2nd Amendment?

At least he didn't buy a hi-point

At least hi points are made in America

Everyone look at this cuck! HiPoint ownership is a basic /k/ redpill. A

Cool story, bro!
You convinced me to to buy this?
>>
>>34342365
My first handgun was an XD40 subcompact that lived its beginning days in the Springfield custom shop.

Thing shoots like a laser, even with a 3" barrel.

Would I have gotten a .40 today? Nope. But was it good in 2011/2012? Fuck yeah it was. I could find ammo cheaper than 9mm for a while.
>>
>>34342365
Why are .40 guns so cheap? Is it cause everyone just goes for 9mm or 45?
>>
>>34342365
>he bought a gun

Be happy you stuck up piece of trash
>>
>>34342646
Yup
>>
>>34342646
Because .40 Swishers and Welfare is a cartridge no one asked for that was supposed to combine the best of 9mm and 10mm but just inherited the worst qualities of each

Commiforniafag here. Thanks to the Handgun Roster I ended up buying an XD45 and it honestly shoots just awful. I seriously can't wait until I can buy a Glock.

One of my friends did this to me last month.

>Buddy from high school calls me one day
>Says he just bought a pistol wants me to check it out
>I'm pretty surprised, he isn't really the gun type. Wonder what he could have bought so i tell him to bring it over
>Look out the window as he walks up
>Glock logo on box
>Die inside
>Let him in
>"Here it is man! Got it for home defence!"
>Open case
>Its a G43

He could have done worse but damn I wouldn't want that as a first gun, or to practice with, or for home defence but good on him for getting something. Even his lib wife likes it so seems like only good came from it
>>
>>34342365

Why do new guns always buy XD or an M&P40? What attracts them?
>>
>>34343312

Great CC but he doesn't sound like the type to do it. It being small might have made his girl less afraid of it so it'll be better than her making him get rid of the only gun in the house because it's big and scary.

If you can talk him into shooting, explain the G43's niche and why his groups aren't as nice as when from a full size due to the sight radius. Maybe explain that it might be a good thing still for his girl and he wont sell it but get another and consider CCing.
>>
>>34343674
They're cheap. I feel like at least the least bit of research would know not to buy one.
Truthfully don't blame my buddy. It's his first gun. Heck, he might actually shoot well with it.
>>

This, OP.

I can get being grossed out, I'm like that when people I know buy Glocks, but to make an entire thread shaming your anonymous friend is pretty dumb.
>>
>>34343740
I agree on all points. I was planning to bring my cz 75 and 83 when we do a range trip. I want them to feel the difference between a polymer striker fire and an all steel hammer fired compact. The 83 has an excellent single action and the weight makes .380 recoil negligible making it a perfect introductory practice gun for both of them. The 75 might be a bit too big and heavy for his wife (the beast is 3lbs with a 18 round mag) but I hope to show my friend the benefits a full size has. I think they're kinda against ccing right now but it may be that they're just not comfortable enough around guns yet but hopefully after I teach them some things and help them explore their options theyll look into it

Read about him. He openly admits to not caring about trying to build the best gun out there, because everyone else is already trying to do that.

Instead, he's trying to build a gun that's "good enough" as cheaply as humanly possible so that even the most cash-strapped can buy his pistols or rifles and adequately arm themselves.

It's literally the 1930's Volkswagen concept applied to firearms.

Hi-Points are to guns what Charles Shaw is to wine: They're far from the best, but they're perfectly serviceable guns that sell for so little that you can buy two or three for the price of every other legitimate manufacturers "cheap" gun.

Everybody should own at least one Hi Point, just because.

Could be worse

>retard i work with starts asking me what he should get for his first gun
>says his limit is $300 and wants to get a .22
>tell him ruger 10/22
>no i want a pistol in .22
>starts showing me some cheap .22 revolvers "should i get this? Its a magnum!"
>tell him no, thats not how life works, its a .22 revolver
>he watches a youtube video on it guy in video goes "i dont know why they made a revolver with a safety"
>all of my wut
>ends up buying some random .22 pistol, couldnt tell me what it was, brought it in to work even though he doesnt have a chl
>wanna see it? Tell him fuck no because hes retarded
>pulls out a .22 round "pretty cool huh?"
>i just bought a winchester model 70 in .300 win mag 4 days earlier, trying not to laugh at him
>proceeds to ask me how bullets work
>wut some more, explain primers igniting gunpowder, bullet goes, dont know why there is somebody this dumb in my vicinity
>holds up .22 round "theres gunpowder in this?!?"
>give up on life, commit sudoku to escape this pain
>>
>>34344160

>they're cheap

Not really, theyre <$400 here and there's plenty of other compacts that are a lot less than that. He could have been like every other poorfag and bought a sd9 or Taurus.
>>
>>34344559
Pretty much this.

>buy Hi-Point for defense
>upstanding urban youth attempts to appropriate my wallet
>defend my financial liberty
>"sir, we'll have to confiscate this weapon as evidence"
>okay
>go buy two more the next day
>>
>>34344602
Jesus maybe you should at least try to explain to the guy that guns are not toys
>>
>>34342863
There's really nothing wrong with the hipoint, except some magazine issues perhaps

It's not meant to win any awards, it's just meant to be cheap and simple
>>
>>34342646

Nobody (well, nobody sane) likes them, Anon. So manufacturers keep reducing prices trying to get suckers to buy them.
It's a solution in search of a problem, and everybody just buys 9mm or whatever.
>>
>>34345122
This guy gets it.
