yeah man, the thing about these ceramic plates. sure, they'll stop armor piercing 3006, but don't you dare drop them a foot off the ground or you'll compromise the ballistics. that's why I use good old ar680. it might be heavy but it'll stop dozens of rounds. I'd like to see ceramics do that

Got some MTPs in from Finland after 2 months of waiting. Idk what fuckhuge motherfuckers they have over there but I don't remember seeing them. I got my normal pant size and shirt size, even made sure the measurements matched up according to the site.

For reference I'm 5'10" and 170lbs, ordered a medium top and 34/35 pants.

I thought those UBAC shirts were fixed-size? There's only 5 NSNs, small medium large xl and xxl. Shouldn't be a huge hassle to go down one.

I got you. That's the pre-PCS combat shirt, kind of crude. I have the desert dpm version in size Small and it fits fine even though i'm a medium tshirt. You should have three thick velcro stripes on the shoulder pockets and some aggravating neoprene foam padding in the sleeves.

I highly recommend the PCS UBACS shirt, newer, if you can exchange for it or just buy another. Those are sized smaller too, a size Small was super tight on me.

Unfortunately that's what happens when your job is sitting behind a steering wheel for 10-12hrs a day. I've lost 15lbs since winter tho, so I'm getting there. I'm happy that you have a perfect body with washboard abs, but you sound like you're having a bad day. You wanna talk about it?

Thanks. Definitely has the foam arm pads. Versteleka had it listed as the MTP PCS so that's what I thought I was getting.

but in all honesty, 34/35 is way too big my man, I'm 6' and I'm 32/32, I can use 34 combat pants but I have to tighten it a good amount. I usually find online charts always give me a size too big.
>>
Reminder that if you aren't carrying 26 magazines, 18 gallons of water, 36 smoke grenades, a quick release ERA vest, saline, and hemostats you're just LARPing. But remember that ounces make pounds, so leave those TQs at home and just use a belt or 550 cord on wounds.

A few threads ago I inquired about dyeing grey Blue Force Gear ten speed pouches.

I tested a single pistol pouch with regular dark green RIT dye and it was ineffective. The elastic refused to absorb the dye but was seemingly unaffected by the boiling water so it still works. Of note the composite backing material soaked up dye on the side without ruberization.

Now I still have a grey ten speed chest rig I want to dye. While I know the dye wont adhere to the elastic components its mostly nylon so at least thats something.

>>34350700
there is literally infinite ways to set up a belt to carry shit. specifically what do you want or need it for?

how many magazines do you want to carry on your belt?
pistol and rifle or just one?
do you want the belt to go through your pants loops?
do you want to be able to put the belt over a jacket or wear it without tucking in your shirt?
do you want to be able to conceal it?
do you want padding?
do you want nylon pouches with bungies?
do you want plastic or kydex pouches?
do you have a pistol that you will need to holster?
do you want a ridged inner belt ?
how low or profile do you want it to be?
do you want armor panels in your belt?

it goes on and on. you gotta help us narrow it down.

You add pouches to a belt usually by MOLLE, Alice Clips, MALICE, Helium Whisper.. the list goes on and on..

More or less you add pouches to a belt the same way you mount them to a plate carrier.

soe makes the only good shotgun chest rig yes. There are other opions but none of them are as chest riggy as that.

it will either take a really long time or it will come in the first week you order it. They just did a run of coyote 12 gauge micro rigs recently. they usually build all of the ones they have ordered and a few extra. i doubt they have any left so they will probably not make shotgun rigs for a while.

you can get an alice rig and shotgun pouches. there are other molle shotgun pouches that you could put on a flat molle rig. you can get a plate with a bunch of bungie loops. but honestly none of them work as well as the cop rig and 12 gauge micro.

I need something good for winter here in Colorado. I like the look of the gorka, but need something that can go down to pretty low temps. Preferably a one piece (I hate keeping track of a liner/how it feel), any recommendations?
>>
>>34360505
It's not. He's right. The only part of a vehicle that has feasible cover are the rims/engine. Anything else is basically concealment

Gorka works in Colorado, Its an outer layer so you just need some solid inner layers for keeping you toasty and the gorka will keep the sticks and shit off you.

Should be just fine and allows a little more modular setup for winter months, doesnt feel extremely bulky

If you're doing a lot of physical activity that might be possible

Has anyone used a KT AKELA holster with a pistol, light, and suppressor?

http://www.kt-mech.com/i_custom-s_akela.html

They look like the perfect answer to holster a suppressed pistol with a light on it.
>>
>>34360468
Do you not see where the 2 other guys are behind the car?
>>
>>34362422
What about the Surefire Masterfire, XFer, and Vanguard holsters?
>>
>>34362422
>They look like the perfect answer to holster a suppressed pistol with a light on it.
That answer is crye gunclip
>>
>>34362544
>That answer is crye gunclip
No, Surefire Masterfire.
>>
>>34362590
>a holster with a "turn the light on when i draw switch"
yeah no

>>34362544
problem with the gunclip is that you draw out to the side which is different from every other holster out there. It doesn't make for efficient draw mechanics and it's just weird overall. Plus the way the retention works makes it a little awkward to reholster in a hurry
>>
>>34362626
>Plus the way the retention works makes it a little awkward to reholster in a hurry
I agree its awkward but in what situation do you need to reholster a pistol quickly?

It can be switched off.
>>
>>34362511
Maybe when they make an Intelibeam x300
>>
>>34362511

they require you to purchase (unnecessarily) a new light that costs more than the holster, and they also don't work with Safariland midride mounting hardware, which I already own and prefer.

>>34362544

The Crye gunclip doesn't work with any midride or drop platform that I know of. That's massive shortcoming and complete deal breaker.
>>
>>34362544
>>34362723

>Crye gunclip

Also, as >>34362626 said, re-holstering is a difficult, two handed affair.
>>
>>34362659
This is not going to apply to most people, but one of the more common usecases of a suppressed pistol in actual combat is for a direct action sniper climbing an assault ladder.

Basically everyone's life is a lot better when there's a sniper across the street watching the objective. When you're climbing the assault ladder to the roof, you don't have both hands free so as you approach the top, you hold the ladder with one hand and draw your suppressed pistol with the other before you crest the top and clear the roof. Then if it's clear you reholster, climb up, and unsling your long gun.

20 feet in the air on an assault ladder is a terrible place to have an awkward reholster, especially one that leaves the pistol unsecure if you don't do the retention snap.
>>
>>34362723
>they also don't work with Safariland midride mounting hardware
I can totally see an adapter being made by S&S or someone in the future.
>>
>>34362736
>two handed affair.
Wrong
>>34362779
Why not just reholster when atop the roof?

As a matter of fact, I got a good pic of the rear assembly.
>>
>>34362795
Because trying to get up on a roof under NODs, wearing 30lbs of kit, with a long-ass suppressed Glock filling your right hand sucks. Having armor and a scoped rifle (regular scope and clip-on NVD) pulls your weight distribution back so it helps to have both hands free to pull yourself onto the rooftop without banging around making a fuckton of noise with all your shit. Not to mention the obvious problems with ND'ing your pistol or potentially dropping it if you clip the can on the edge of the roof or a ladder rung.

And here's a pic of Safariland's. It almost looks like it would work. The screw pattern seems very similar to Safariland's QLS layout
>>
>>34362844
the safariland pattern is longer. desu doesn't make any sense to me for surefire to make their own proprietary mounting pattern
>>
>>34361382

Only problem I have is that I can't find the manufacturer that's listed on their test sheet on the nij approval list.

Could it be approved but not be on the list?
>>
>>34363339
not likely
as you can see they didn't do a real NIJ 0101.06 test and they can't get NIJ certified unless they do.
>>
>>34363415
Yeah it's says on the test sample paper that it's tested for nij 1.1.06 level IV(modified)

So I'm wondering wtf a modified 06 test is
>>
>>34363809

Hey, I said it was a niche complaint. I'm not gonna go say everyone needs a military-oriented holster for their suppressed pistol like that quick-release retard did.

Borrowed Arcteryx. Probably the best hard knee pads you can get out there.

I've got the LAPG STS pants with Tru Spec knee pad inserts and they've also worked quite well.
