The takedown lever is down, can you pull the slide back at all?

If yes, pull back, and lift up on the rear of the slide. This will allow you to slide it off. The P230 is a blowback firearm and the recoil spring sits around the barrel.

Toss the whole thing in mineral spirits for 2 hours then toss it in a can of motor oil for 24. Hours, if it doesn't budge then use the hammer

It ate the follower.

You're going to have to at least spring for a new follower anyways. Personally, I'd replace the mag, and keep your current one as a range mag (with a new follower).

If you've got a brass drift handy, try and tap the follower back down with it and a light hammer.

Non marring dowel down barrel -> whack it

if that doesn't work, toss it in an ultrasonic/sprits like >>34337547 said.

If THAT doesn't work, go to a hardware store and niggerig it onto one of those paint can shakers. That oughta loosen it up.

and if that also fails, have one of your young female friends take it to the local public range on a busy and act as as if they are helpless and need assistance unjamming it. It's the same principle behind pretending to be female for advice on imageboards, but in real life. Someone will unjam it in a jiffy
