>>
>>34332136
do you even know what the fucking lawsuit was about, retard?

they claimed to have zero thermal drift in their optics, however when heated above 120 C or cooled below -30 C, they experienced thermal drift

Unless youre submerging your eotech in -50C methylbutane or leaving it in an oven eotechs are great optics.
>>
>>34332099
If EOTech figures out their shit and fixes the MOA shift then maybe id get an EOTech but as of now I'd go for the Vortex. Also their lifetime warranty is great.

> Beginning around 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the sights’ aiming dot became significantly distorted, affecting the accuracy of the sight and worsening as the temperature approached -40 degrees. At sub-zero temperatures, the distortion of the aiming dot affected the accuracy of the sights by more than 20 inches for every 100 yards.

>As explained below, the sights failed to maintain zero (or point of aim) over the temperature range specified, and they suffered from severe parallax error at around 30 degrees Fahrenheit, affecting the accuracy by 12 inches for every 100 yards. The sights performed even worse at colder temperatures. In short, the sights deviated from their specification by approximately 70 degrees.
>>
>>34332878
They did.

I talked to some guys at opticsplanet about it, and the new 2017 Eotechs have different circuitry to bring Eotech in line with other competitor models.

T-1 is old, first of all, so why would anyone get a T-1? Never mind that it's more expensive and still requires a mount. MRO is slightly magnified which is annoying as fuck. If it wasn't for that it could be an option.

Both of these are plain old red dots which some people don't like. There's definitely appeal in the EOTech style reticle.

I've never seen anything mentioning EOTech attenuating the thermal drift. All the other fixes have been in place since 2014 at the latest, according to their press release. If the thermal drift concerns you, I would still not buy an EOTech sight.

If this was such a big deal we would have heard about it before this recent internet memestorm. EOTechs have been around for years and functioned in all climates and it's literally never been a problem until you read a post on ar15.com and now it's a BIG FUCKING DEAL. I've been posting on probably half a dozen boards for 15 years and I've never read about issues with thermal drift from EOTechs. I own 3 different models, 1 of them I've had for probably close to 10 years, and I've never experienced drift issues in any climate. No one I've ever shot with that owns them has complained about it not holding zero.

Chickens go in a run, which is fenced-off, which means that if a coyote is there it's even closer range which means the EOTech™ Advantage™ is pointless. Overpriced garbage, get a Vortex SPARC or something, it's going to be good enough to shoot something breaking through chicken wire. Nice try, Junior.

Can someone with an EOTech XPS series sight try to replicate this?

It just doesn't happen. This doesn't stop the Eotech from being a sub par red dot, but it is lacking the amount of utter fuckuppery this Vortex apparently has.

I have to be honest with you, it's too expensive for me to justify right now, but I don't think this issue would ever stop me from getting one. (if I actually liked holos) I don't even think it's an issue, that's way, waaaay too bright to use anyway. Even if it wasn't too bright the ghost image isn't enough to throw off a shot.

I just don't really see the problem.
>>
>>34343074
Apparently the problem is that it's not visible outside, at all, at the highest usable setting indoors. If you set it up for being useful outdoors it does that when you go inside. Supposedly EOTechs and other red dots are better at this.
>>
>>34343091
Being visible outdoors is pretty important, but I haven't read that's actually the issue. Seems that the power setting is more of the problem so adjusting from outdoors to indoors is a little tricky.

You know what hasn't failed me? My little ghetto Bushnell TRS-25 that my grandma got me for my birthday. I have a Trijcon RMR on my oper8in rifle, but the Bushnell is on the Maverick 88 and it's pretty great. I shot a bunch of raccoons with it and yelled "MOZAMBIQUE" when I dumped the rest of the tube into the bodies.

My superior russian red dots shit on your overpriced capitalist Memepoint and EOCuck aiming devices
>>
>>34343248
I like Russian optics it's too bad they usually come on a mounting system made for retards. :(

"DJIBOUTI!!!"
>>
>>34342485
So I'm going to spend 600 dollars to mount a Lego master chief head on my rifle? Nice try, better luck next time anon.
>>
>>34343265
You can get the PK-01, PK-06, and the Kobra all in basic bitch AR-compatible mounts.

The side mount is just more a e s t h e t i c , that's all.
>>
>>34342287

Where I live it never gets even really close to that cold, and we put in sweaters in the low 70s
>>
>>34343288
No it isn't. There's nothing aesthetic about a clumsy solution to add optics to a rifle that should have had a better receiver design.
>>
>>34343248
Are you the same vatnik that claimed the 1P87 is better than the Aimpoint M4 even though the 1P87 has the same battery life as an Eotech, fewer light settings, rated for less severe physical shock, less severe temperatures and can't be submerged into more than 1,5 meters of water?

What are the benefits of a holgraphic sight like this or an eotech? I figure it's good for people with astigmatism and you get a bit of a wider view range. Is there anything else to it that would warrant it over a red dot?
>>
>>34343760
Not a vatnik, I just think that the Russian reticle design butt rapes Aimpoint and EOTech's designs in terms of ease of target acquisition, simplicity, etc. A 2MOA dot plus the alignment lines is a god-tier combo, and having used all three extensively in my days doing tacticool wannabe move+shoot drills, I'll take it over the other two any day. Since I'm not fighting in Vietnam, the water and heat resistance issues of the commiescopes isn't a big deal to me.

I actually like Aimpoints a lot though, I just think EOTech's are a shitty meme that are bulky, ugly, kill batteries, have major durability issues, and are generally inferior to the based Swedish tubesights on pretty much every single objective measurement. Even the EOTech's reticles suck, they remind me of the patterns off of a toy or something.

As for durability/shock resistance. If my Vepr 12 can't kill my PK-06, then I doubt anything can.
>>
>>34344331
I've got astigmatism, and I'd much rather deal with the small amount of beam scatter that I get with an Aimpoint, Trijicon, or Zenit than overpay for EOTech's shitty design and ugly/distracting reticle designs. Less is more, when it comes to dot size/shape.

The only thing left after the astigmatism thing is literally
>muh feefees
>>
>>34344946
Even the astigmatism thing is majorly overrated. We're used to seeing all light sources being blurry, picking up where the dot is is NBD.
>>
i dont care, my eotech works fine and I never had problem with it.
>>
>>34334130
I would consider that a compliment

This. Id bet 90% of combat soldiers have never used anything besides the eokek before serving.

Fucking this. If you actually care about this stuff, stop being a mallninja and spend that money on ammo. Not to stockpile; ammo to practice with.
>>
>>34337512
What a little bitch. Good thing the end isn't near. You'd probably have a panic attack when you realized it meant no more power or central heat/ac.
