I've interacted with police while carrying a number of times and it's always gone well. I let them know I have the firearm, stay calm, and announce my movements before I make them ("I'm going to reach in my glove box for my insurance" etc).

Wife has had the same experience. Usually they thank us for carrying. Only one has disarmed me and he gave it back half way through the encounter. We talked carrying before he left. Some cops can be assholes but most are just people who want to go home.

Great point anon. I think our police today have become unchecked, and for the most part are bullies. I was watched highlights of a cops from the 80s or 90s and the difference was night and day from how they act today.
1. We need completely independent police investigation teams. Police investigating police is retarded.
2. We need body cams on EVERY cop, that cops are responsible for having on at ALL times. When a different standard of justified shooting applies to cops but the same standard of legal justice applies. You get situations where its near impossible to convict cops of crime.

If that's the case then I clear my pistol, lock the slide to the rear, and set it on the dash in plain sight. Put your hands on the steering wheel and don't move them. Inform the officer that you have a carry permit as he approaches. Leave your hands where they are and follow instructions. Remain calm.
