My place of residence is currently in a largely populated city, my hometown is ~40 miles away from me right now, where i left the rifle.
Being able to shopt it is put if the question, i need to have a licence for a "class 3" rifle in order to purchase ammunition.
And since the rifle probably has no previously registered owner, getting a license for it would prove to be quite a hassle.
Also i dont want to bother illegally bringing in 7.62 from say, Finland.

When we were kids, my brother and I found an old Cooey Model 82 single shot .22 in our grandparent's garage. And since this was back in the 1980's when it was still okay to give guns to young children, we were allowed to keep it for removing flickertail prairie rats (Richardson's ground squirrels).

The only other gun I've ever found was a severely rusted and broken double barrel 12 gauge while exploring an abandoned farm. The gun had a pretty severe crack running lengthwise down the left barrel and looked like whoever was shooting it had just thrown it away into the field and never retrieved it. Since the stock was rotten and the metal bits starting to pit from rust not to mention the lockwork rusted solid, I just left it there.

Took it home, started looking at it, noticed that the interior had been relined and material looked newer than Vietnam era. Peeled the lining and see four machine screws. Take them off, use a little knife to pop off the top, and I'm looking at a false bottom.

Contents: Several suggestive and non-suggestive pictures of a Vietnamese woman, a silver ring with a gold tooth as the jewel, a small diary, Vietnamese money, and some assorted coins and a US blood chit.

Sold the coins, money, and blood chit. Everything else in my safety deposit box.

Yes, the Model 82 was the "Enfield" training rifle though ours was sportered and missing the rear peep sight/front sight hood. Still a retarded accurate rifle though. Too bad it was sold off at a garage sale in the summer of '95 because my parents didn't want to go through the hassle of getting a FAC and registering it when Bill C-68 came into effect. Both my brother and I were still underage so we had no say in the matter.

Our first Model 82 may be long gone but that doesn't stop me from buying them when they pop up nowadays. Good ones usually go for $200-$350 syrup bucks so they're not terribly expensive to collect.

Okay, here is what you do.
1. Hide it somewhere safe
2. Get a hunting license, they are easy to get and not too expensive
3. Wait until some old relative dies, "find" the Mosin there
4. Apply for license for the Mosin, claim it is an old heirloom and you had no idea the license was lost.
Since it is an old bolt action, the police tends to not give a fuck but it is not guaranteed.
That is the only way I know of to get a found rifle legal.

Alternatively you can keep it a secret and buy reloading equipment and make your own ammo.
Each separate part of a cartridge is legal to own, bullet, case powder and primer, they only become illegal when combined.
Be aware that the po po loves pushing the shit in of otherwise law abiding citizens found with illegal guns, it's easier than going after Vladislav selling Yugo hand grenades to Mohammad but it still shows up in the gun crime solved statistics.

If you want the good goy answer, either wait for the police to announce a weapon amnesty (if you have those in Sweden) and take it there to get it registered to your name. Take your hunter's exam or join a gun club to get a license to own it.
If that doesn't work, I think you can buy ammo without a permit in Finland (might just be my mate misremembering) and you could likely smuggle in small amounts without issue if you were a filthy little criminal you.
