Wobble between an upper and lower.
I just put together an aero precision lower with a BCM parts kit but when it interfaces with my upper, its extremely wobbly. The lower if for a different upper I am going to be making but this worries me.
>Is there anything specifically bad with having wobble?
>Would a quality upper fit better on an Aero Precision
>whats the best thing to do about this?
Inherent part of the design.
Should wobble less with magazine in.

No. There could be an argument about long range accuracy but that's more to do with the receiver slop and how it interfaces with you, the shooter rather than mechanical accuracy.
Not necessarily. There are Andersons thatre tight af and KAC guns with slop. When building Frankenstein guns you run the risk of tolerance stacking and getting a rifle with some slop
If it really bothers you, get an accuwedge, or apply a small bit of electrical tape on the lower above the rear take down pin, or use o rings above the front take down pin.
Additionally, you can have a tight receiver set, and after shooting it and breaking it down enough, end up with some minor slop.

My current build has no play. (pic above is my original build)
Also, just tried with the mag in, and i didn't notice much change.

>tolerance stacking
this guy gets it. the fact is, unless the upper and lower receivers are meticulously machined as a pair, its just luck of the draw.
another solution to the oring or accuwedge is drilling and tapping the pistol grip hole for a small setscrew. some receiver sets come with this mod now, the setscrew takes up any slack between the two.
personally, i would just learn to live with it

Okay I appreciate the info guys. Im hoping the upper won't have much because it drives me nuts.
It's fine, the electrical tape suggestion works well if it bothers you though.

Im actually kinda disappointed.
My aero precision comes with that polymer tip to adjust for slop but I raised it all the way as far as it goes and it did nothing
try an o ring

An accu-wedge will solve this issue. $5

Get one of these:

Go to lowes and get a longer one

unrelated but does the holosun work well with a magnifier?
can you rate that optic for me?

Used one on my mp sport, had to remove like 80% with a razor to get it to fit but it does really help with the wobble at the rear pin
I would recommend buying a pack of em for cheap on eBay because you can easily overcut them

Put some jb weld on the lower above the rear pin, let it dry a little bit, then put it together and let it cure.

Agreed. I don't even use the ones I bought...just wanted to try them out. But yah they do what they are supposed to if you feel them necessary
if its supper bad, you got to get one of these, but its makes it a bitch to take the lower off

This. Worked for me just fine and took only a few seconds to install. Wobble 98% gone. Takes some muscle to get any play between the upper and lower now
