What ever happened to these? They dried up fast. I can't even find them used. Are they even manufactured anymore? I was under the impression they were new-manufacture.

Because of import bans and no open bolt, there weren't many.

they show up on Armslist pretty regularly but they're never less than $500. Not really worth it if you ask me, I wish I'd picked up one or two when they were cheap.

If you're in WA, I have one of the pioneer pistol variants of this for sale.

SMG Guns has a couple left to sell, but that's it, as far as a "new" one goes.
I got one in a package deal with two tokarevs maybe 5 years ago?
They are fun guns, were even more fun when then ammo was super cheap. Finish is cheap, the semi auto trigger assembly seems real cheap too, but they are fun guns.
As far as I am aware these were made from parts kits with new upper receivers and modified bolts/trigger assemblies to allow it to fire from a closed bolt.
