Help me decide which historical "Machine gun" I should buy next in semi-automatic.

>MG34
>ZB26
>SG43
>PKM
>UK59
>Vickers
>Or anything else that would be cool.

I already have a few built, attached is a pic of my Maxim I sent off about a year ago to be built, and I am just waiting to get it back.

Here's a pic of my madsen I had built a while back.

One thing I really like about it compared to most semi conversions is the reliability since it did not have to be converted to closed bolt from open bolt.

Lol what a fucking cuck

you don't own more than one ar?
>>
>>34285166
All of my ARs are practical and have a useful application, the shit he has is just some neutered attempt at the real thing with no purpose.

the majority of my antique guns have no real purpose, come to think of it my inert ordinance collection has no use whatsoever. at least his guns shoot.

Already have one.

>>34285207
I collect these guns because I think they are neat. Sure I can do a lot more "practical" stuff (even then it's still no more than shooting targets) with my ARs, but the history behind these guns is something you can't get with a commercially produced AR.
>>
>>34285220
then i'd be looking at an MG34 next, you wouldn't happen to have tripped as partskit would you?

Having just looked all of these up I'd say do the SG43. It looks neat with the carriage and I'm sure a resourceful fellow like you could rig up some sort of gatling trigger for it like pic related.
>>
>>34285281
well then good to see you again and i'll change my vote to ZB-26 since i hustled up a kit for it in that other thread
>>
>>34285329
Hey thanks for that I had seriously looked for about a week constantly trying to find a kit and I could not find shit. Hopefully those guys come through on that.

I really like the idea of a MG34, however they seem to be SO UNRELIABLE. I mean a rarely ever shoot these guns, but when I do I would like to be able to shoot them without troubleshooting them the whole time. I may buy the MG34 though just because TNW is saying this is their last year making them, and I do not know any other builders making them.

>>34285325
Pretty sure that the guy who has the ATF approved design on the Semi SG43 ships them standard with the crank fire, or it may cost a few hundred more. Not a huge difference in price. The one thing I do like about the SG43 is that it is also soviet which goes along nicely with most of my collection.

The PKM would be my top choice but it is about double or triple the price of any of the others to the point it is the same price as a FA MG08/15. Not sure I can justify that.
>>
>>34285220
Do you live in a state where you can actually get real Class III weapons? If so, I'd just save the money for the real thing rather than a neutered clone.

I'd say that rifles like the AK and the AR retain 90% of their use and fun when in semi-auto only. Machine guns lose 90% of their use and fun, on the other hand. They're heavy, expensive (seriously, even an RPD semi-auto costs near $3000), and use nig-rigged parts to convert what should have been an open-bolt design into a closed-bolt abortion.

If you want something that looks cool, is expensive, and has good resale value to boot, try getting a Norinco NDM-86.
>>
>>34285401
I don't really care about the resale value. I buy the guns I buy because I find them interesting and neat, I do not ever foresee me ever selling any of them so resale is kind of a mute point. That being the case I also do not care much about the actual practical use since I buy them from a collectors standpoint. If I am going out to the range with some friends I will grab my MR762 or AK74, not the Madsen or DsHK.

not enough around to get a good idea of the going rate, it doesn't seem out of line for an lmg kit these days.

How do you feel about the rpd? I was going to buy one but was really disappointed with the sights. The rear sight was very small and hazy

The best, in terms of reliability, belt fed semi on the market. Absolute blast to shoot and I never have to work on it to get it running properly.

What the fuck is a zb26

$1700. Although that was back when original barrel kits were 500 and the build service was $1200.

pick one and only one, there is literally no point in having something belt-fed if it isn't automatic
>>
>>34295139
No point in just having fun or owning something you like. Everything should be totally utilitarian.

Piss off Rainey McDickhole.
>>
>>34285051
My vote goes to the PKM, mostly because I think it'd be cool having something that's still in front-line use by the Russians and because it uses easily available ammo.
>>

If it wasnt for that I would recommend a semi auto m249 and rig a slidefire stock to it.

Legal easy full retard gun. Guaranteed to turn heads and drop jaws at whatever range you decide to shoot at.
