If you had a military grade sniper rifle and just shot completely random people at the very edge of your visible range, how long would it take for you to be caught? How many people could you get away with straight up murdering because there's just absolutely no motive to trace
>>
>>34278442
Go home ATF you are drunk, and leave my dog alone.
>>
>>34278442
>Military grade
Soo... Youre talking about built by the lowest bidder, old, beat to shit with a shot out barrel that's been handled by dozens of other idiots?
Yeah... No..
>>
>>34278442
You couldnt get away with it. They'd find you eventually. Just like the DC sniper
>>

I would never think of doing such a thing Agent. I own my firearms for all legal intents and purposes.

What the hell? Are alphabet agencies really this desperate? It's just sad, man, go find yourself an actual job. You know, something with a future. Something meaningful.
>>
Probably not very long, sub sonics only good for around 200m (there are exceptions but as a general rule) and anything else is going to be heard from beyond a kilometre. I hunt with a 7mm08 and wouldn't feel confident shooting a moving target outside of 500m and everyone's going to scatter after the first shot. There's a reason snipers are only focused on high value targets, you can only really hit 1-2 people before people have narrowed down you're general direction and gotten into cover. If you want to live this fantasy try shooting a mob of goats at 500m, I will be suprised if you can get more then one before they've fucked off.

The DC snipers effectively shut down 2 states. Scary to think how devestating it would be if there were multiples working at the same time.

Unless you moved around after each kill, it would be rather easy to get a general direction of where you shot from based on the bullet entry point, and from there, cameras could be used to paint a picture of you.

Probly not many, those cunt spelunkers already killed most of the dogs in america during raids.

>The DC snipers effectively shut down 2 states. Scary to think how devestating it would be if there were multiples working at the same time.
That was actually his plan, in his deranged mind anyway.

He envisaged kidnapping/adopting young boys and raising them as snipers in some wilderness retreat before coming back with an army of shoot&scoot car snipers to paralyse the entire nation.
>>
>>34279781
>I am actually worried about this since it is looking like they are about to commute one of those d.c. shooters sentences.
Well one of them was an indoctrinated child who was tried as an adult so yeah, without the pyscho who controlled him around, I bet he'd be quite able to rehabilitate.
>>
>>34279889
You are overestimating the competence of police.
>>
>>34280442
Better than underestimating, though.

At extreme ranges, the ballistic trajectory would be extremely difficult to reproduce. Without the exact load data, it would be a VERY general area at 1200-1500 yards.
>>
>>34280442
By the second or third incident, depending on if people die, it will be under the attention of one of the federal agencies as a terrorist act, if they are doing their fucking job that is.

Tell us, OP:

What exactly is a "Military Grade Sniper Rifle"?

There are a lot of people like that. With current events a commuted case could instigate others. There are also police involved cases that could, depending on the outcomes, embolden or antagonize events.

I had a long range obsession for 20 years, BP, 200winMag, .338, ending up on large cal BP

Read everything I could find on sniping and off into OCD on inclinometers, ballistics calcs, level floats, dope books, kstrels, range finders, particles of a moa adjustment 40x scopes

I could probably work up to doing 1.2K again fairly easily with a large subsonic

Now if I use a thermal barrel sleeve and (censored not to help isis) and a large subsonic with the right dope and a good artillery optical rangefinder and inclinometer on a good day....I could probably go for s few years....particularly as I am recluse and nobody knows me

But why?.
>>
>>34279745
Indirect fire was an art form in WW1

Go read macbrides book on sniping BUT his other book the emma gees was on using machine guns for indirect fire to strafe supply routes

I think when a group starts using indirect fire on crowds......your into ballistic radar an a gunship in your ass.
>>
>>34283421
What kind of muzzle velocity do you get with your BP guns?

I can't imagine you'd have enough velocity left once it got to 1200 yards to do more than punch a hole in paper, or give someone the punch of a lifetime. I figure any real killing power a 300gr slug moving at 200fps would be in the form of pure blunt trauma.

I've been waiting a long time to post this image but no. Goats do not scatter when you shoot them. I have proof.
>>
>>34278442
Washington DC, for one, has a ShotSpot system that uses sound to triangulate the position of the shot and feeds the GPS data straight to the cops. In Seth Rich shooting, after the handgun shot was spotted, cops were on the scene in 5 minutes.
>>
>>34283655
lol why did you shoot those goats anon?
>>
>>34283750
because goats are fags
>>
>>34278442
From one location, not very long. An active shooter situation is going to see the full attention and force of every local law enforcement agency. Helicopters, k-9s, SWAT teams, hell my city even has robots.

DC sniper style, it may take a while to get a description of your vehicle and track you down. The DC snipers were lucky they lasted that long without running into trouble.

>>

>>34280420

Both are correct. Muhammad wanted to kill his ex wife and frequented the area she lived in. During his trial his accomplice Malvo stated that Muhammad's ultimate goal was to recruit kids, train them in Canada and let them loose back in the US.

I'd get a silencing device for the weapon, if so, I'd snipe at night
I'd never be caught
>>
>>34283655
Where you from stranger? The goats around here are fucking in to it. Pretty much have to chase them in a helicopter or shoot them outside of 100m.
>>
>>34283473
That reminds me of a story. I work in aviation and you know how pointing a laser pointer at an aircraft is a big deal? Well around airports people are dumb enough to laser aicraft from their house, but there was one guy in an apartment building they couldn't quite pinpoint, so the cops go out with a helicopter and some IR devices to look for him.

The dumbass lasered the helicopter.
>>
>>34278579

are you talking about at one time? you could set up in a 20th story room, open a window and sit in the back and gun down fuckers in the busy streets. turn your stereo system up and the suppressed shots shouldnt be a problem. the streets would be cleared after you murked a handful. if youre trying to get a lot at one time you need a full auto SBR with a drum magazine and a crowd. drive by with a 100 round beta mag on a antifa rally. guaranteed 20 casualties in 6 seconds.

So, um, no.

Lowest bidder for a set standard for every aspect of the weapom... so they are still precision tools. They are also well kept by DoD civilians who's whole job is to keep them working well. Nice try though

I hope you ate them anon, roast goat is tasty af
>>
>>34278442
As fun as it would be to do this, it's really not in any /k/ommandos best interest to do so.

I mean think about it, all it will do is give the libtards some more shit to spew at us

>"hur dur ban all military grade long range precision assault sniper rifles"
>gobment enacts new law that any bolt action rifle must have a barrel length of less than 18.5 in(while also being longer than 16in) and cannot be in any caliber larger than .308 nor exceed any velocity that will allow you to kill anything past 300m
>"hur dur why do you need to shoot at deer more then 300m away, why do you need a boolet that goes faster than the speed of sound"

Nothing good would come of this for anyone but the shooters, who would at least get some giggles outta it.

Yeah DC snipers a shit.
Dude left long ass letters to the police. Used the same car. Used the same caliber. Stuck to gas stations as a target site a disproportionately large amount of the time.

Imagine if they had rotated out between a .223, a .308, a 30-06 and a 7.62.54. And rotated out between a fleet of different legally bought junk cars. And didn't bother to engage with the police at all. And spread out among a few more states.

Are you one of those people who dream of building a turbine-powered super bong and start your life long quest off by hooking up a leafblower to a car engine?

I know a guy who tried that once, he took a leaf blower assembly, ran it off the power steering belt, and had it blow into a fire box stuffed with weed that vented into the car. First time he hooked it up it blasted him and his friends with flaming weed and smoke and the car burned down to the ground.
