I doubt you're getting two checks. Your civilian employer isn't going to pay you if you're not there, and if you are on federal active duty, you're not on the state's dime so they're not going to pay you either.

I didn't want to disclose state but I realized it doesn't truly matter. So one of my friends is a cop in the nypd, and he is a navy reservist. I really have no idea what he does but I know that he's in the reserves, leaves for a deployment, the nypd pays him even though he's away and he gets active duty pay, then he comes back to NY, takes the promotion exam, and then he leaves again. He's coming back for the lieutenant exam soon. 2 paychecks. Nypd officer pay and active pay. He told me himself.

Excellent bait. If you're serious you need to pick a job you'd rather do for the duration of you contract unless you want to be a boatswains mate. You aren't going to make it with that attitude.

Actually yeah, OP here confirming that I am indeed a misinformed faggot. I found out that SEALs can only be reserve AFTER they enlist and become full-fledged. I can't go directly to seal team 17 or 23 (I believe those are the reserve teams, don't quote me). Fucking sucks.
