Well that certainly doesn't look good.
>Crew chief connects ground power.
>Master engine switch goes to "on"
>Throttle to "outboard"
>Battey switch is pressed down momentarily to "starter," and then released back to its neutral position as the engine spools up to something like Three percent.
>Throttle is set to idle while the engine spools to something like twelve or fourteen percent power.
>Tell crew chief to disconnect ground power and retract the flaps and airbrakes. Check to make sure they are retracting freely. Set battery switch to "on"
>Set the radios to required frequencies.
that's all there really is to starting up an F-86F. There are about three more steps to getting all the weapons that aren't the rockets working, but they're so readily apparent that you probably won't need instructions, save for the rockets, which require the rocket fire switch to be set to "auto" or "single" before they work, and the switch is a bit inconspicuous, but everything else is SUPER apparent, can't miss it. Easy plane to start, mostly easy to fly.
>>34278997

MiG-15's don't fly like magical UFOs that are unaffected by gravity when they climb in the dogfights since they made a full module of it. Used to be that in the F-86 the best I could hope for is to fire the GAR-8 and have it hit or run out of fuel before he managed to shoot me down, now I can actually win if I play my cards right.

I'm really hoping for a high fidelity F-18, not just some shit F-18 that is early version without Link16 or anything. If they get a somewhat modern F-18 version up with HARMS and Link-16 there will no longer be any reason to fly any other plane in DCS.
A2A? Much better SA and comparable kinematics to F-15C but you get lock lines from wingman and tracks from AWACS on enemy if Link16 is in it.
A2G? Much better to drop JDAMs at 30k feet .9M than the current A-10s. The LAR is huge if the bomb can just autopilot glide all that way.
SEAD? Only SEAD right now in DCS is Su-25 which is honestly shit tier and a compromise right now. F-18 will become king of that.
I think most online fighter groups are going to go almost all F-18 when it comes around and gonna need to split squadrons based on role in the F-18 rather than the current model of split into aircraft flown.
>>34279167
Honestly, I'll take the F/A-18C because any F/A-18 will do at this point, though I was really hoping for the (sadly now cancelled) F/A-18E, the F-14 however, I think will challenge the mastery of naval operations. The F-14 will probably be out some time this year, but I think we're gonna have more than a few pilots repeat the Kara Hultgreen incident. I do KIND OF wish they'd put in the F-14D instead, but I'm up for the challenge nonetheless, and an F-14A will still be a much needed giving of love to naval aviation and aircrft carriers, which I doubt have seen much of an update since the days of Flaming cliffs if not even as far back as lock-on. In any case, in order to stay inside the landing area of the carrier, your nose will need to be over the centerline, and players who aren't careful will likely meet the same fate Kara Hultgreen did.

If you're wondering what happened to Hultgreen, here's video of her death. https://youtu.be/6Q_anBB3M0A
The description of what happened was that she overshot the landing centerline, and tried to use full left rudder to correct it, causing a disruption of airflow into the left intake, and a compressor stall. She then applied full power to the right engine in order to wave off, causing the plane to torque and begin to roll over. The RIO initied ejection, and ejected while the cockpit of the plane was just pointing only fiteen degrees upward from the water, zero point four seconds later when the pilot ejected, Hultgreen was ejected straight into the water, recovered nineteen days later while still strapped to her seat.
Come on now. This whole thread is a silly joke, right? Everyone knows there is only one.
