So I used to think A2 grips were ugly, old, and normie, but they're actually functionally awesome. If your hand fits the indexing nub, the nub is pretty invaluable for creating a mechanical mechanism for preventing your handing from displacing vertically along the grip. Goes much further than even the grippiest of grips and gloves.

I wish there were more grip options with finger nubs. Basically there is the A2, the MIAD (nub is small though), and I guess the ergo grips with finger grooves count but those are arfcom af and don't look good on anything other than SPR IMO.

Depends on how far you want to go. If you want 100-1000m of precision? Something either 6 or 6.5.

Literally the only thing .308 has over 6.5CM is surplus ammo.

If you are going major distance/power then do something like .300 Win Mag, or .338 EDGE. However, if you want a good unbelted magnum for hunting, .280 AI is a beautiful round.

Eye relief on 3x is adequate for A2 stock. 5x wasn't enough. I've got QD mounts on both which helps some, 5x ended up on my 308.

mine's a conversion... found a decent deal and saved a lot over the colt a was looking at. if you go with a conversion make absolutely sure that it takes standard uppers and any mags, there were a lot of lowers made in the 80s with janky dimensions

Yea, I'm aware of that. For a one time purchase type of gun, I figure it's worth the extra price to have the piece of mind of a factory gun. Mainly just looking at factory Colt M16s, and M16A1s. A2s are really damn expensive.
