I saw a shitbull get clobbered by a horse it kept attacking once, so bludgeoning can be effective.

This isn't preferred, as it may turn on you and if it's on top of you you can't swing, but I'm unsure about knife laws in your country
If you can carry knives, know you can kill a grizzly with a decent knife with right stabbing placement. Just go for it's neck, avoid the nose and face as it will just latch on to your fucking hand.

Also a cattle prod sounds good, too.

i have heard multiple stories of people sticking sticks, phones, even there own fingers up a dogs ass when they were attacking another dog. the attacking dog then instantly lets go, and runs away with its tail between its legs. I don't know if it's genetics or bad education, but it's not uncommon at all. I had some boxer like shit just stand up in front of me and my dog and grab him by the neck unprovoked. Luckily it had no interest in attacking me, but I had a really hard time keeping it off because I was alone and it would go back to attack as soon as I released it. And I've heard enough stories of pits suddenly snapping and mauling their owners to expect worse from them.

Honestly thats not that bad. Especially since most reports clump together quite a few different breeds as "pitbull type" dogs.

The pitbulls are doing around 20 deaths a year, and cows and horses each average around 20 a year also.
