/k/

I need some boots for hot weather. Recommend me some. I want them to pass for smart casual wear though, so no straight up military boots.

Pic related; had a pair of Brashers which served me very well, but they still werent great for hot weather.

Try on a few trail shoes and low ankle merryls and danners and others to see what fits your foot and go from there
>>
>>34265991

Just get some Doc Marts and be done with it.

Ankle support is a fucking meme, trail shoes are all you need if you're not an infantry soldier or going into the fucking mountains
>>
>>34268111
trail shoes are pointless, if you dont want to wear boots you should just wear trail runners

skip Keen and Merrills because their quality took a nosedive a few years ago. Oboz and Vasque have a few styles of quality trail shoes in multiple lengths that can pass as business casual.

For work I'm actually almost never on a trail. If I'm rucking (have more than 50lbs on my back) I have a pair of Lowa boots that are barely over ankle length. I have a pair of Salomon shoes most of the time for general field shit, and I'll throw gaiters or neos on if needed.

So I'll re iterate, ankle support is a fucking meme because the average person isn't carrying heavy gear. You have fucking weak ankles if you need to support your own body weight, and if you catch foot in a rut and your ankle snaps and tiny bit of fabric and cushioning won't save it.

Yeah /k/'s idea of "smart" is efficient operating gear.
off to /fa/ you go.

Isreli combat boots, they are like high top converse with boot tread.
Very light weight and breath extremely well.
Palladium boots are the style.

Yeah no shit.
If you want smart hot weather boots, you want thin, permeable leather and no membrane.

Clark's suck, other brands make better desert boots. they are for casual/office use.
>>
>>34271751
I've wondered this too considering how they always market how it was used in Africa by Brits. After owning a pair, I seriously doubt they would unless they had nothing else. They have basically no support, and aren't very secure on foot and kinda slip. They also don't have no tread and you'll slip a lot especially on wet and metal surfaces. One great thing though is that they are completely utterly silent thanks to that crepe sole. So that's +1 for operating.
