Qatar signs a deal for 72 F-15QAs. Boeing mad stoked the F-15 line will stay open into the next decade.
http://www.defensenews.com/articles/qatar-us-sign-agreement-on-f-15-deal
Wasn't Qatar just named as the evil terrorist land?
This was followed by the announcement of a new common F-15 version for Lebanon, Ghana, Bahrain, and Turkey.
>>34262222
nah they're back to be America's Friend(TM)
>>34262222
Terrorists can't use jet fighters. So it's cool.
>>34262221
>buying F15's in 2017
I guess if they are only for show and bombing sand people then it's fine.
>>34262222
Look who they are accused by.
Saudi Arabia accusing Qatar or 'spreading terrorism' is basically the same as Russia Today reporting that the Ukrainian revolution was all down to fascists.
For some reason, the US media is completely blind to the Saudis destabilising the region more than Iran or Iraq ever did.
Of Qatar's 2.5mil population only about 350k are native Qataris with the rest being expats and foreign workers?
So who is going to pilot and maintain them? Are they just planning on hiring ex-AF dudes?
>>34262246
It's been a long time coming, they've asked for these for a long time. Trump gave them the green light after Obama's administration left them hanging over human right records.
They've recently purchased Rafales as well.
>>34262258
Chang, please. Today's F-15s will stomp anything China puts out.
>>34262272
Qataris. America will train them. You don't just buy a plane. You get weapons, ancillary equipment, maintenance, spare parts and a training program.
Turkey and Pakistan also train the Qatari air force.
>>34262287
>Today's F-15s will stomp anything China puts out.
I doubt that. J10, 16 and 20 are all more capable fighter aircraft than a strike eagle with a TWENTY-FIVE (25) SQUARE METER RADAR CROSS SECTION.
Then there's the su30 and 35 model they have imported - bearing in mind that the older Su27 was designed to shoot down F15's.
any of the eurocanards, F18 and F16 would of all been better choices than a strike eagle.
>>34262253
>Terrorists can't use jet fighters. So it's cool.
there was a video with an IS-pilot flying over a highway in syria or iraq
not releated
https://youtu.be/Iho3aH_grM4
>>34262264
>For some reason
Same reason they're somehow blind to the Israelis and Turkey both doing similar shit. At the end of the day it's all financial interests.
>>34262221
>166.6 million per plane
damn thats steep for a 70s fighter.
>>34262480
Not unusual, depending on how much additional equipment they get. The system price typically also contains spare parts, maintenance, simulator facilities, pilot training in the US, munitions and of course you have to calculate the kickback for the Qatari officials involved in the deal.
The numers thrown around in e.g. F35 discussions are usually just the pure hardware price without any integration costs included.

>eurocanards better choice than the strike eagle
>F-18 a better strike fighter than the strike eagle
>F-16 a better strike fighter than the strike eagle
>>34262221
This explains all the F-15 parts I've been making for Boeing...
>>34262764
>realises he can't justify the F15 so he has to make up a "strike fighter" requirement.
>>34262317
>talks about rcs
>j-16 is better
(You)
>>34262221
This makes my genitals feel good.
>>34262764
>we now know that ME:A was trash because the A-team was working on a completely different game
>>34262221
Now I finally know how A-10 fags feel when their trashcan gets it's lease renewed.
>>34262962
Well, Strike Eagle variants are still new enough to be combat relevant, at least.
>>34262907
It looks like a F-15E variant.
>>34262938
>ME:A
>Trash
It's an accurate autism simulator
>>34263190
>It looks like a F-15E variant.
It is.
>>34262909
>implying it's not
(you)
>>34263058
Am I right to assume the f15 would beat a su30/mig29
How would they fare against an f16, f/a18 ?
>>34263995
They're still pretty good against 4/4.5 gens. It's undefeated for a reason. And Strike Eagle variants have better sensors than standard units. We don't know the exact details of what will be in the QA, though.
>>34262462
>there was a video with an IS-pilot flying over a highway in syria or iraq
Doubt it
>>34264030
>>34262462
Could i operate mig21 if i'm expert at flying it in DCS? I know how to get it started, use buttons etc.
>>34262264
>Look who they are accused by.
Trump.

Maybe they can't fund terorrism if they've blown all their money on fighter jets.
>>34264069
LUXURIOUS GOLD F-15s anon.
>>34264028
Would be so awesome to see KSA & Qatari air forces fighting, terrible for the world economy, but so awesome to see all these jets go up against each other.
For all the retards in here and their
>old F-15
They are getting the F-15 advanced eagle, it's with new GE engines, shit tons of AIM-120 in one sortie, Digital cockpit, IRS tigre eye, and many more
It's new beast
>>34264069
Prove you're not terrorists and buy our planes to contain ISIS.
>>34265005
Get the Cypher pattern on the wings and we're set.
In other news, Gripen E had its maiden voyage today.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FZlOWIJWCo
Didnt deserve its own thread, but somewhat related.
>>34265005
For this retard, will these F15s see a noticeable increase in performance thanks to the new GE engines?
>>34265005
>It's new beast
Its an old beast with some upgrades. I'd like to see the source for this, too.
>>34263995
MiG-29 is pretty much a guaranteed win for the F-15. Su-30 is a toss up that could go either way.
>>34266655
A ha ha no. My country's top end (for the time) Mig-29N had a 1:8 kill ratio against fucken F/A-18s in training exercises with the US Marines. It would be a lot worse against the F-15s. The Fulcrum is outdated close-in dogfighter when your enemy outrange you with superior BVR.
>>34266655
Whoops, sorry. I read your post wrong. My bad. I thought you meant Fulcrums can beat F-15s. Our best Fulcrum pilots could only manage to win 1 in 8 matches against the F/A-18.
>>34264053
Most assuredly. Similar to how 8 year olds who drive lambos in Forza could do it on a track.
