Why dont we still use the Gatling Gun system from the civil war? It has several individual bolts and as it rotates each bolt picks up a cartridge, then fires, but if it misfires, then the bolt just carries the cartridge as it rotates, then spits it out. Make it battery powered and add a feed system that dosent use gravity and you would have yourself a machine gun that dosent jam, which would be nice for aircraft or vehicles.

They're called "miniguns" now.

only one bolt my guy

wrong.
>>34258943
Why do you think it only fires at one position on the gun? Miniguns only have one bolt, but multiple barrels.
>>34258975
wrong. each barrel has it's its own bolt. they fire when the cam, which is fixed, closes the bolts which are moving. because the cam doesn't move, each barrel fires in the same place in each rotation.
>>34258975
It has a bolt for each barrel you dumb shit.
>>34258975
You are literally retarded.

Namefags, everyone.
How could you not understand this? The rate of fire on the modern equivalent is insane. Do you think a single bolt is capable of chambering, firing, extracting and ejecting fast enough to be ready to begin the cycle again in time to meet up with the next barrel? Common sense my man, c'mon.
