What are you basing this on? The long-time boner for old milsurp was because it was cheap. For example, now that Mosin Nagants are 500 bucks, the memes have largely faded into obscurity. On the other hand, /k/ just doesn't stop beating off to the mk17.

A clip hold rounds before they are loaded into a magazine, generally used for firearms with a fixed or internal magazine, though can be used to load removable magazines as well, media does use bother terms to reference the magazine however.

People have preferences, milsurp dudes and race-gunners are pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum, etc.

British weapons have historically been regarded as decent, in particular the Enfield series, and the SA80 was adopted a fine target rifle in sterile conditions but proved to be a pig of a gun to actually use in combat due to many flaws that became apparent in its design and build quality.

The new SA80A2 has improved on pretty much all the failing of the initial design, but it the firearm world a bad reputation is eternal.

a clip is a thing used to hold bullets together for storage and loading into a magazine.

a magazine is a device used to store and feed bullets into the chamber.

for example, take the SKS. the magazine feeds the bullets into the chamber, and you use clips to store bullets until you're ready to put them into the magazine.

/k/ is full of young gun owners who don't have much money. old milsurp tends to be cheap.

/k/'s favourite guns are whatever is cheapest at the moment. notice that ARs are starting to get popular here at the expense of old meme guns like the SKS...but it's not $1500 high end ARs with $1000 optics that's popular, its shit like PSAs on Anderson lowers and M&P 15s, etc.

"Jamming" was never really a problem on the L85 - a "Jam" normally referring to a double-feed, or an obstruction in the chamber resulting from improper feeding of some kind.

It had problems with stoppages due to incorrect extraction and dirt fouling the gas parts especially, as well as bits falling off it and breaking, but the L85A2 addressed pretty much all these problems and is a pretty reliable service rifle. Not perfect, but perfectly workable.

And you use clips to attach to a speed loader to load a Magazine, the magazine goes into the weapon.

Or, you know, the original L85 indeed WAS that awful.

Everyone can own an AR15 nowadays, but I doubt anyone would volunterily want a 1:1 reproduction of the first batch M16 and its ammo as-is.

oh no you're right the A1 was fucking terrible, but nowhere near as bad as people said. A lot of it was due to using american off the shelf ammo, and not forward assisting because the spring was as tense as swiss cheese.
