Why has, since pic related "failed", the US military stuck with tall as fuck IFVs and APCs?
>>
>>34251914

Because combat by trial for small IFVs like the BMP has shown them to be highly vulnerable to mines due to their low profiles keeping the occupants near the detonation point. That is a bad thing when your primary opponent specialises in their use.
>>
US armour is crap, always has been. It's American doctrine to spend every penny on having an air force and navy that makes the rest of the world look like a joke, which can compensate for crappy armour.
>>
>>34251923
Then have something with adjustable suspension and up armor kits for the belly? M113's were just as bad back in vietnam. Bradleys are still shit. You're doing something seriously wrong if you're not demining/clearing routes before sending in mechanized infantry
>>
>>34251914
You ever try to rapidly egress from a russian apc?
>>
>>34251940
>Bradleys are still shit
Concisely explain what makes the Bradley a bad IFV without quoting Pentagon Wars.

All AFVs are vulnerable to mines, you double-nigger.
>>
>>34251988
The Stryker wasn't, it has the ability to roll over before it gets to a minefield.
>>
>>34251931
Not true. US armour is the same as all other Made in America ground vehicles - barely adequate.
>>
>>34251958
Just throw a gustav round through the side, then you can pour them out

I figured there was a reason old school burger and soviet infantry would often ride on top of their APCs.

that and RPG could kill everyone inside
it also faster to dismount
>>
The M114 was not a tall vehicle, you should be ashamed of yourselves biting such cheap bait.
>>
>>34252975
and you should be ashamed by your lack of reading comprehension
>>
>>34252893

It's also kind of uncomfortable to ride
When you don't need to ride in it there's not as much of a reason to ride in it as on it.
