What're some /k/ places to live in Arizona? Was thinking Cottonwood as it is cheap and close to Sedona where my parents are. Being close to hiking and mountain biking is a big plus.
I mean that is more /out/ than anything. I guess it could be /k/ due to the ammount of public land out there. But you are going to either have to a) hime a fuck ton and go off trail to find places to shoot or b) talk to a rancher. They have a ton of land and every now and then a predator problem, so you can do that if you know how
>>34241193
/out/ is dead
>>34240881
Cherry is nicer.
>>34241249
Holy fuck an anon that knows about cherry.....
Can't really work from there though.
>>34240881
I used to live in Safford for 10 years. Pretty quiet, lots of outdoors activities. Hard time getting a job, though.
>>34241443
I live in az. Payson is nice. They even have a walmart.
>>34241503
I do too, i love camping around cherry.
>>34241541
I found some nice spots off stoneman lake road. You can shoot and camp there for free.
>>34241587
Outside of flag? Also kek @ filename
>>34241811
On your way to flag, off the i-17. Its pine forest with intermittent meadows.
>>34241811
well I mean there's a target in that photo
Check out Prescott anon
>Old West heritage alive and well
>plenty of /out/ stuff in the area
>JGSales HQ/store is there
>Ruger factory is there
>not overrun with Califag runoff
>not as stupidly hot as the rest of the state, actually gets a proper winter
>>34240881
Arizona is not a /k/ place. When SHTF, you're fucked - nothing grows there, you'd have hard time hunting off the desert, there's no water, there's no fuel. Maybe you have a remote chance if you move _now_ to some really remote place in a forested part of Arizona where water is available around the year, but otherwise - bad, bad idea. You'll perish with the rest of unprepared idiots who don't even have an emergency water reserve, not to mention food or fuel.
>>34241193
Arizonian here, there's literally places to shoot that are right off of the highway. like you just pull onto bush rd off of I87 drive up to a berm and shoot.
>>34242346
What you talking about? The dessert is full of small game like rabbit and birds for hunting and Arizona has natural rivers and lakes less than an hour outside the city.
>>34242346
This. There's 6 million people in a valley with no water supply, and if the grid goes down you're fucked with no A/C. We're on life support.
>Oh well I'll just go north!
Yeah so will 6 million others (and the Tusconers too) They'll flood the (like 3) small podonk towns which will also run out of resources.
>>34242406
Oh but don't worry guys we'll survive on our abundance of snakes and rats! No, we're fucked if SHTF. I've come to accept this. My goal will be getting back to my family in rural CA.
>>34241942
Seconded.
t. Califag that got the fuck out
>>34242433
>implying California has water
Topkek, you're a fucking idiot.
>>34242433
In a SHTF scenario, I only need 1 bullet.
>>34242433
Na mane the trick is to go east past the east side of lake Roosevelt and maybe south closer to Florence not west of Kearney though thats to far. I hunt down there regularly and I know where there are fresh water sources hidden in those dessert hills. There's even deer out there if you know where to look.
>>34242472
Fine go east and get headhunted by post-apocalyptic injuns.
>>34242444
I actually patrol the area listed as trendy, it's actually little Somalia/Mexico and transient paradise...
>>34242508
Crazy. I havnt lived in Phoenix in years so I didn't see that being accurate. I commute down from black canyon city
>>34241503
Dont they have restrictions on using firearms almost year round because of high risk of fire?
>>34242520
Anything that touches the light rail and 3-5 miles in any direction is shit.
Who's the retard that even settled in this desert shithole?
>>34241231
Take it back
>>34240881
Watch out though, I heard there's a bunch gay roleplayers out there wearing football equipment pretending to be Romans or some stupid shit. They just run around with machetes screaming about profligates and degenerates.
>>34240881
I moved to SE Arizona 2 months ago because I'm 1/4 Apache, not much but it's all I have. Anyone else down here? I need to find some places to shoot that isn't the homosex Sierra Vista Range.
>>34242638
Sounds about right. I live near 7th ave and camelback. I'm always seeing vagrants digging around in my apartment complex's garbage and helicopters circling around above isn't an uncommon sight. There's almost always cops just hanging out in the nearby Fry's. Still, nobody's broke into my car yet so I don't mind.
>>34242670
SE like out near Tombstone?
>>34242691
>Tombstone
exactly
>>34242683
>7th ave and camelback
We may cross paths one day.
They don't care too much to break into vehicles, too much risk for little reward. Transients are more likely to break into your house (when you're not home, it's a good thing they're cowardly though). You're in an area that has a very high residential burglary rate. I take a report for that almost daily. Too many homeless turds desperate for drug money living around good hardworking people. Apartment break-ins are more rare though. I would be more worried about the gang activity coming from around 19th Ave and Camelback.
>>34242733
So a cop who patrols my neighborhood also posts on /k/. Small world. Yeah, burglary is probably what worries me most. I still haven't gotten around to getting a proper safe for my guns and I'd hate for them to get into the wrong hands. Stay safe, mayne.
>>34242773
Black canyon fag here, I work in your area as well (43rd and camelback)
>>34242784
>>34242773
>>34242733
Tempe fag here the only Trendy part of that map is the area near the ASU downtown campus, if you want cheap food and other trendy shit without the risk of vagrants fucking about either go to Mill or Chandler.
Mill is good during the summer as the lack of college students means lower prices to stay competitive and just a more low key bar experience in general plus there still a bunch of slutty sorority chicks there i just have no idea where they're coming from or why they come her this time of year.
Chandler is going through a big gentrification and revival boom, with chandler avenue seeing a big growth in new bars and restaurants. The definition of trendy. the nice thing about chandler right now is that while them main road is well developed the side streets off of it are quiet and free parking is readily available. Plus they have a bario queen, and bitches love bario queen.
>>34241503
Interesting. Great grandparents used to have a ranch in Payson. Never met them but I heard plenty of stories of rattlesnakes getting guillotined by nana's shovel.
>>34242661
I'll give you a (You) for that reference, anon. You deserve it.
>>34242733
What's the hiring situation looking like with Phoenix PD? Was looking to get into law enforcement after graduation. Hopefully NPS or state parks but I would be glad to have a job with any department.
>>34242661
>>34242848
Just ended a big hiring boom. They're still hiring but to stringent standards. There will likely be another freeze after we fill a few more spots. Glendale and Tempe we're recently hiring too. If I were you I'd try for a department where you're not going to be on a skeleton crew driving a car where the doors are falling off (I'm hinting at budgeting issues). Shit they didn't even give us all the equipment we needed in academy, just a $30 leather holster, cuffs, and a cuff case... It's really fucking bad. They can't even afford to give us all fire box keys (master keys to apartment complexes, gated areas, etc). Like how expensive is it to copy a key? We have to wait outside for the one guy on the squad who has one while people are inside possibly dying...
Anyway, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, and Scottsdale, maybe Mesa but I don't know much about them because they use a different academy. Tempe is probably the fastest growing and highest paying, but good luck. All the new hires in academy were top of the class mentally or physically, or they had family on the department. They're only hiring probably the best out of a thousand.
>>34242890
>best out of a thousand.
That's IF you don't count the one retard they hired because she was a sergeant's sister who wanted to play police cop. Good old boys & girls club, etc.
>>34240881
bumpz for AZ /k/ommandos
>>34241503
I love Payson. Visited there a few months ago. There's a old antiques store there where some fudd has pistols hanging all over the ceiling, what's up with that?
He was nice and I scored some 1903 parts sitting in a box in the corner for dirt cheap.
>>34242523
Some counties during summer, definitely not year around.
>>34243358
Its a nice place.
>>34242784
Black canyon is cool. Except for the meth.
>>34242433
Get fucked cali fag, we dont want you here.
>pic was takin in black canyon city.
>>34241193
East coaster go away. there's blm land fucking everywhere.
>>34242433
>>34242346
>claims to be some top notch prepper
>doesn't know how to dig a fucking well, something dirty mud farming injuns figured out 1000 years ago
>implying monsoons don't exist
>implying we don't have huge lakes all over the valley
consider suicide
>>34244452
Yeah, its honestly not any worse than any other part of Phoenix.
>>34240881
Housing in cottonwood isn't very cheap. Paying 1000 for two bedroom apartment on Western. Nothing to do for young people, so they all pretend like they're hard. Lot
s of ok restaurants. Fire ban in effect so no shooting on public lands until winter. Pawn Palace is the best gun shop here. I work in Sedona, there are trails just about everywhere there. Way too many hippies. Also Cottonwood fags like small shitty hondas and big trucks. Lot of beautiful women here. Been here about a year now, from phx.
RECOMMEND ME SOMEWHERE TO GO INNAWOODS FUCK
>>34245685
Coconino county is nice for innawoods adventures.
>>34245702
was thinking of heading towards Payson/Mogollon/Overgaard, but have no idea where.
any place in Coconino you personally recommend?
>>34245735
Stoneman lake road, mogollon rim, lake mary road. Just find a forest service road off one of the ones i just listed and go explore. I try to find new spots every time i go out.
Do you have a offroad capable vehicle ?
>>34245826
Sounds good. I have a 2WD Tacoma, it can't climb unpaved mountains, but I can romp around dusty roads in Tonto with it.
>>34245986
Ah im also a taco fag. You should be good. Ground clearence is the most important out here, so rocky. Check those areas out, they are really nice
>>34246041
Sounds good, thanks boss.
>>34244452
Alright i just remember visiting around September 3 years in a row and each time i couldnt shoot due to the high chance of fire. Definitely nice up there though
>>34247041
July-September are the worst months
Also hottest part of the day is 4-5pm
>>34241942
Don't forget Embry Riddle
>>34240881
