What is the difference between .223 remington and 5.56 nato. Gun sites ive seen display them as the same thing, but ive heard if you fire the wrong one, it will he*k up your gun.
its my birthday tday
The military rounds are generally loaded a
little hotter. Most modern firearms will fire both without any problems.

Dimensions are the same. Standard pressures are higher for 5.56, which therefore usually has slightly thicker brass. Most guns will shoot either with no problem.

More or less they are the same thing. General rule of thumb is still .223 through anything. 5.56 does not go through a barrel labeled .223 rem. .223 wylde is able to shoot .223 or 5.56 but if one got mixed in it probably wouldn't do any damage unless it was a super hot round.
.223 is a civilian round loaded to a fraction the pressure of 5.56.
Putting 5.56 in a .223 gun will at best burst a case and at worst explode the gun

So if I fired a 5.56 nato through an assault rifle chambered in .223, id be fine?
>>34232428
Other war around, tex.
would this cartridge conversion be safe since they listed it as 5.56, or are they just fags?
>>34232428
what kind of gun do you have? if it says .223, just put .223 in it.
>>34232396
5.56 runs at a slightly higher pressure. There's probably not many guns that can't handle both of them, but some guns aren't RATED to handle 5.56, and so they MIGHT fail if you run it.

yeah it says .223 and 5.56, youre good

but the outlaw didn't worry, men that tried before were dead
Again, most modern firearms in that caliber will fire both with no problems. Two minutes of Google-fu will reveal whether your gun is one of them.

I can't wait to see torture tests of the HMG STGs.

Twenty men had tried to take him twenty men had made a slip
Twenty one would be the ranger with the big iron on his hip
I get that you're new here, but drop the name if you intend to post in another thread. Just thought I'd warn you before we get another namefag. Names and tripcodes are okay in your own thread to identify as OP, but using one in every thread isn't okay.

Not true
The reason for higher pressure is same load and thicker case, not a hotter charge
