I'm not sure if it will help her, but when I was in Jr High and highschool I took juijitsu, and felt so so about it but made some good friends which made me feel better since they were good friends that we could physically beat the shit out of eachother and walk away laughing. I can't say the martial art is at all easy to employ but you get something else from it that I can't really explain. Anyway.
If you actually want her to be able to defend herself legit, I took krav maga later in life (make sure it's a no gi dojo/studio whatever. Plainclothes shoes on only.) I got a pretty healthy mentality from juijitsu that kept other people from fucking with me so I generally just didn't get into fights afterward much. BJJ or Judo are probably your best bet given the number of places that teach it.

Sambo is ideal (it's not a meme and it has a very good mix of essentially Judo and Boxing) but finding a place that teaches Sambo will probably be tricky. Where I live the only dude who teaches Sambo is a Ukrainian who flies into the states a few times a year to do expos and that's it. Some MMA places teach elements of Sambo but most don't and you will probably pay more because MMA branding.

Honestly, see if a Sambo place exists - if it does, go there. If not then look for Judo and BJJ. Avoid meme shit like you mentioned, karate, TKD, etc. those McDojos thrive off sign on costs and selling you shit like gi's knowing full well you won't come back after like three weeks.

All of the details. Consider having the complaint written by an attorney, on lawfirm letterhead. Also make very clear that you expect the school/district/board to make it stop without further victimizing your daughter, i.e., no jacking her classes around or moving her to a different campus.

You also need to see if there's any online bullying going on. That also goes into the complaint. Document the fuck out of everything, btw.

Now, about leverage. Bullying doesn't happen in a vacuum. These kids are doing it because something is shitty in their lives, and it's their way of compensating for whatever that is. Listen, basic self defense classes will work. Do you want her to control the bully? BJJ is the best option but Aikido could also be helpful if they're just shoving her. BJJ is the best martial art for one on one self defense. First, most fights go to the ground. Second, any person can learn to use BJJ effectively; size doesn't matter. Mma classes aren't really a thing OP. Put her in a good BJJ academy. I have a black belt from matt baker who is a legit practitioner. Got it after 2 years, as a note if you get a black belt from really any place in less then 1 year its a "rent a belt" place. You really want to find good classes though. It helped me fight a bully while i was a white belt in jr.high.

If your looking for hand to hand kick boxing is a great bet but its not somthing for the weak. It hurts but its well worth the cost.

Part of the hype is how it's something you can learn in a few weeks and then become a total badass. The problem is that the lack of overall training time makes for shit retention. Without constant training, it'll be hard to remember everything you learned, let alone being able to pull it off in a stressful combat situation.

A lot of normies make a fuss about how Krav is better than stuff like MMA or boxing because it does moves that are effective in the street but would be illegal in those sports. For example, moves like eye pokes, groin strikes, small joint manipulation, etc.

However, you can't really practice those moves seriously without hurting someone. This leads to them not practicing the moves that often or that hard, making it hard for them to do those moves under stress. A lot of them don't practice much in general, meaning their physical conditioning and overall reflexes are poor.

Meanwhile, a wrestler or boxer have thousands of hours practicing their takedowns or punches against resisting opponents. They also tend to be in great shape and can take a lot more punishment.

It'd be a lot easier to take a train a fighter to eyepoke somebody than take a krav guy and make him into a fighter.

Hard vs Soft style of martial arts is a search term for your research. If you're not going to do your own research and are just going to trusk /k God help you. But since it's /K consider looking at Filipino Martial Arts.

2 actual pieces of advice:

1. She has to like it, the style and/or the trainer's style. She might love a a hard style martial arts or she might prefer a softer one. She might want a more in your face coach or a more laidback one. It has to work for her. Actually practicing and integrating the movements is key. If she likes it, she's more likely to do that.

2. Try out some classes, multiple ones in your area if possible. There is no discipline that's been able to keep assholery and koolaid drinking out. Some instructors are good and teach. Some learned that the sizzle sells the sausage and became professional BS salesmen. Go with her (or have your wife go with her) whichever of the two has a better BS detector. Try a bunch and make a joint decision.

As for styles. Like the caliber wars much more heat than light here. Listen to smart advocates from the various disciplines. Watch out for monetization, sporterization, and kool aid drinking. They're all in all disciplines. There's some good Krav instructors out there don't just discount it. FMA emphasizes cross compatibility (stick, knife, fist, same base movements). Judo is lovely for throwing people into the concrete and running away (but lot of sporterized crap).
