Hey there /k/, it's /tg/. Quick and hopefully simple weapons question.

Is there a significant amount of difference in training time or complexity involved in learning how to use different kinds of bows?

Like, if I know how to use ye classic English Longbow, would be be reasonably proficient with shorter bows as well? How about any significant difference between the training in the usage of a self/simple bow verses a composite bow?

I shoot longbow, recurve, and compound, and there wasn't really a severe learning curve between each one. Took about a day to two days to get comfy

Thanks. If you're curious, I'm looking over the D&D weapons table for 5th edition and wondering if there's a meaningful reason to make shortbows a "simple" weapon, verses longbows a "martial" one.
