Alright k, i need help choosing a caliber for some durr hunting. What im looking for is cheap, easy to find, accurate up to 2 maybe 300 yards, and last "dat stopin pawah!". Also want a lever action .22, one i can hand down for generations. What are some good recomendations. I like pic related
Durr rifle: Savage Avis II or Ruger American Rifle.
Hand-me-down .22: Henry Golden Boy or Classic Lever Action.
>>34203583
skip the lever 22 and get a Henry Lone Ranger in 5.56 or .308
>>34203643
Those are rifles tho, im asking what cartridge
>>34203663
.308 is the standard for medium game like deer or hogs.
>>34203650
I still want a .22 in my arsenal, i have an ar15 and 12 gauge.
>>34203684
Then get a 10/22.
Lever 22s arent all they're cracked up to be.
And this is coming from someone who loves his lever gats
>>34203678
308 it is what about levergat .22
>>34203696
Nice, what lever action do you recommend, still need dat levergat
>>34203697
Dude...
For the .22 hand-me-down, a Henry Golden Boy or Classic Lever Action.
>>34203708
Already told ya anon. Henry Lone Ranger.
Its a mag fed lever gat in modern cartridges.
and it has

I prefer the Tikka over the Savage and Ruger. The howa feels a bit nicer though. Just my opinion on economy bolt actions. I own a Tikka.

You CAN find Pre Remshit Marlins (MUH LOADING GATE) for under $600. 45-70 kills everything on the North American continent. Or you can get a Golden Boy and a Big Boy chamebered in 45LC (check to see if it can fire 454 Casul if you want more power) for cheaper rounds but still has Stopping Powah.
>>34203742
Ok you my attention, what are stopping lugs
>>34203757
Fuck, I meant the golden boy is chambered in 22LR
>>34203768
Locking lugs ,mybad
>>34203768
Have you ever seen the bolt face of an AR? It has those lugs that lock into the bolt to keep it from moving. Other leverguns dont have that.
The rotating bolt and locking lugs allow for use of modern cartridges with no risk of the bolt opening, because those lugs will keep it closed.
>>34203783
Oh thanks for the knolledge
>>34203802
NP anon.
Its sexy as fuck and it's for sure the next gun I plan on getting.
>>34203821
1,200 doller levergat, shit, ima really have to save my Mcbucks, but i i guess henry .308 and ruger 10/22 it is. But one more question, if im gonna make the levergat my durr rifle why not 3030 like the fudds are always screaming
>>34203924
>1200
My nigga, the msrp is 1065, you can get them for sub 900.
>>34203924
.30-30 is expensive and its ballistics dont even compare to the power and accuracy of .308.
It's an unfair contest.
>>34203937
Thanx /k/ now i know what to get, ill post when i gets
>>34203937
They are both decent, 30-30 is expensive for what it is. But it is the far superior bush round and will dump more energy instead of using that energy to mushroom and penetrate. Still I'd recommend a .308 bolt action, more versatile.
