Why would i want a secondary when i could rather have 100 more rounds for my primary?
Becauses badasses and cool dudes carry two guns
Primary and secondary weapons make sense when the primary weapon can be lost in the hectic battlefield i.e. melee combat, that's why you need a trusty sidearm.
But nowadays when every combat is about 200-300m, it's very, very hard to lose your primary.
Thus yes, it's just better to carry more ammo.

For executions and/or suicide
To kill your Sergeant at night without alerting everyone in the base.
>>34196450
A modern rifle does just fine for executing someone, and is also fit for suicides. I've seen both performed.
Hard to launch flares from a .223 barrel. A 26.5mm does wonders in signaling and various
>>34196398
All that extra ammo isn't gonna mean shit when your rifle malfunctions or becomes damaged in the heat of combat and can't be fixed. I'd rather have a secondary to swap to.

>nowadays when every combat is about 200-300m
confirmed for greasy civilian
what about when you have a failure of your primary> or have to clear out tight quarters inside compounds?
>>34196622
>or have to clear out tight quarters inside compounds?
You blow the compound up of course.
>>34196537
>Rifle malfunctions
>Switch to sidearm
>Can't hit shit because bad guy is 150m away
>get shot because you keep exposing yourself to shoot to feel like a Real Man(tm)
If your rifle malfunctions and you're not within 25m of what you're shooting at, then congrats, you have two options.
1) Clear the fucking malfunction like someone who's not a fucktard
or
2) Nothing. you're fucked. Kill yourself, let the enemy kill you, surrender, or run. Doesn't matter. Your fight is over.

>because bad guy
Why do Americans talk like this? Your troops go to some bumfuck country to fuck with locals and they are the "bad guys"
>>34196696
Every country in the world belongs to America.
They shoot at us, they're the bad guys.
>>34196398
Because you don't want to be captured by ISIS alive.
Alright, switch to your swidearm.
See how fast that was? Remember... switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading
>>34196711
>tfw it actually isn't
games lied to us man wtf
Enlisted can't be trusted with more than one weapon at a time
>>34196722
depends how your gear is set up. If you can just drop your gun and let it hang (hopefully not smacking your nuts) then you can switch faster. If you do anything else it's probably slower
>>34196722
How else are they going to get you to use the objectively inferior weapon they programmed in for the placement monies/fanboying?
>>34196731
>Mom, I pretended to be an officer again
Tell that to a turret Gunner baby boy.
>>34196622
In what world do you live where you don't have at the very minimum the rest of your squad to cover you if your weapon fails, and cannot clear a building with literally any flavor of m16 or m4?
>>34196711
Not always, garandthumb did a video on it, very little time difference
>>34196998
confirmed for never operating in shithole 3rd world countries
its always faster to switch to your pistol than reload
MISSION FAILED
WE'LL GET EM NEXT TOIME
>>34196398
more importantly wtf is up with that M16, it looks like an A1 with A2 handguards. I guess it could be an A3 because the shooter is AF, but I thought the only difference between A2 and A3 was the FCG?
>>34196627
This right here is why we've managed to have so few deaths in a decade and a half of war.
>>34197134
It's pretty much just common sense. Why in the living fuck would you ever breach and clear if you have the option of either setting the building on fire or blowing it up? It's not like the goddamn USMil can't afford the munitions for it.
>>34196702
Fucking kek my dude
>>34196398
>Might versus light
>>34197117
It's an M16 with A2 handguards. Imo pretty much the absolute perfect AR setup.
>>34196711
kek
>>34196443
Once WWIII breaks out, there'll be a lot more variety since at that point people won't be fighting in the Arab deserts.
>>34197388
before picatinny rails and night vision, yes.

Lets hear the details if you don't mind
