Honestly killdozer guy was awesome.

He was dumb had that been me, I wouldn't have brought a single weapon with me. I'd have brought a shit ton of snacks and cold beer and the moment my dozer got immobilized, I'd have called 911, announced my surrender and laughed my ass off as the cops and fire department spent a day trying to cut me out. So long as you don't harm anyone and obviously make an effort to avoid doing so, it's pretty hard for a court to hang more than 15 years on you. And if you've never had a prior conviction and you're a model inmate, you're probably going to get parole.

So if a corrupt city council bribed by a big corporation takes your business from you and you in turn wreck the town with your home built tank, you can probably come out of the whole thing with a new career if you want. Prisons have a shit ton of educational opportunities. Get some training and be a good inmate and you could come out on the winning side of things.

Heemeyer had the gist of it, but he botched the execution. He could have spent a day getting blind, stinking drunk watching the cops sweat their asses off on his CCTV system, then gotten a free law degree in prison and left ten years later making a good living at everybody's expense. He could have even gone back home to the town he raped and been a public defender spending the rest of his life doing everything he could to fuck the entire community.
