According to this video there are some issues with the slide stop/release being too stubborn making it very hard to drop the slide with it.

They wouldn't make it ambi if they didn't want people to have an option use it as a release. You might prefer to slingshot but it's still an issue.

Other than that it looks like a good gun. Negligibly bigger and heavier than a 19 but overall better quality.

Glock aftermarket doesn't play much of a role here since you are not going to put half a dozen of accessories on a carry gun, probably night sights and maybe a light for home defense at most.

It wil be, but it has nothing to do with quality. It's just logistics. It would be too much of a hassle to replace every glock with a new pistol and retrain all the officers/armorers.
