Animal control may be the best option if you can't shoot it.

The alternative would be to buy a havahart trap, a storage bin big enough to hold it, and a tarp. Wait for the rabid beast to stumble into the trap, approach it when it's calm and throw the tarp over it. Bring over the storage bin and place it right next to the trap, fill it with a hose. Adjust the tarp so you have several folded layers of protection, and can lift and dunk the covered trap in one swift motion without exposing the animal. When the animal is at a low stage of activity, pick up the trap and tarp and steep into the bin. Do not expose your hands to the water to avoid contact with infected saliva. Hold the cage down with bricks or a cinfer block, and let it sit for 5 minutes after thrashing has stopped. Then dump the water, hose off the dump site religiously. Throw out everything involved and get washed immediately.

Literally just this morning I woke up and as I rolled over I saw a mouse run under my bed. I spent the next hour and a half trying to get a good shot at it. Somehow my pellet gun sights got bent since the last time I used it and I missed about 5 times from 10ft away until I figured out why. I thought I missed more than that since it took about 8 shots total to kill it, but it just turns out this tiny mouse survived 2 fucking .177 pellets.

One of them broke his leg and stunned him and he sat there coughing blood while I reloaded and put that metal plate under him so I could finish him off without getting blood everywhere. Definitely not a clean kill and I feel bad, but fuck him since now I'm cleaning blood out of my carpet and wiping everything down with bleach so I don't get sick from eating his shit.
