Hey /k/, can you help ID some weapons from Syria? Thanks.
Some kind of MLRS? What model?

My *guess* since I'm in a hurry is a Type 63 multiple rocket launcher for 130mm rockets.
>>34138505
*107mm rockets, my mistake. I got the two systems mixed up, the 107mm uses that swiss cheese carriage.
>>34138505
Yep its a Type 63 with the 107mm- made by about half a dozen countries, quite a popular bit of gear over there

How can you tell that's not a RPU-14?
Is this a T-72?
What is the easiest way to tell the difference between T55, 62/64 and 72? I always get them confused, especially if it's a naked 72.
>>34138589
The perforated metal carriage is quite distinctive to the towed and mounted 63's
>>34138608
They all have different road wheels, this is one of the most visible differences.

Carl's Jr. tee shirt launcher
>>34138449
The entire point of an MRLS is that it's mobile.
That is not mobile.
>>34138648
It's on the back of a techie.
>>34138674
My bad. Looked like a stationary platform.
>>34138642
What if you can't see the wheels? Any other way?
What is this thing? Flak?
>>34138871
that looks like t-72, generally if you don't see road wheels, turret shape, hatch location can tell, other good example is hull fronts splash guard, then one in picture is typical to t-72
>>34138904
Probably got shot off. SAA tanks are mostly in bad shape.
>>34138608
Its a bare T-72, the T-72 has a 'V' shaped splash guard were the T-62 and T-55 have a horizontal one.
>>34138882
57mm SZ-60
>>34138920
Can you post a pic example?
>>34138871
>T-55
Bore evacuator at the end of the barrel.
Flat splash guard.
Five road wheels
T-62:
Bore evacuator in the center of the barrel.
Otherwise virtually identical to T-55.
T-72:
Bore evacuator in the center of the barrel.
'V' shaped splash guard.
Six road wheels.
Steeper angle of the glacis and a flatter turret.
>>34138959
>>34138941
Note the difference in slash guard and glacis geometry.
>>34138959
>>34138973
Tank U

>T-62:
>Bore evacuator in the center of the barrel.
>Otherwise virtually identical to T-55.
it too has a slightly stranger turret shape, T-55 looks like a perfect dome, T-62 looks like a pear
This is a nice thread.
What are these launchers?
>>34143025
"Volcano" launchers.
A local modification consisting of a large (~410mm) warhead mated to a 122mm rocket. Inaccurate but packs a huge warhead and cheap to make.
