>Want to get AR
>See Windham Weaponry M4 Heavy Barrel
>See S&W MP15
>both for 1490 Swiss Francs (same in dollars)
Since Americans are more knowledgeable about ARs, which one is the better AR and which one should I get?
Stay the fuck away from WW. If you're on a budget get Aero Precision.
>fifteenth hundred dollars for a basic bitch AR
Wew.
I'd go for the M&P
>>34135696
>M&P15
>$1500
You Swiss guys are getting fucked over hard. I see one for sale on Buds for $529 with free shipping.

That's life in Switzerland.
>>34135720
Can you not find something with a middy gas?
>>34135696
Unless you have a boner for the carry handle and a heavy barrel, I'd go for the flat top.
>>34135703
Why? Are Windham ARs shit?
>>34135727
What's a middy gas?
>>34135733
You can remove the carry handle.
>>34135703
Bullshit. Windham is one of the absolute best. They're the ones who owned Bushmaster and sold the Bushmaster name, but kept producing great ARs. It's the current Bushmaster production that is shit, not Windham.
>>34135696
I'm no expert but I've done enough research to settle on the S&W when I go to buy my first AR
Long time shotgunner here - shoot sporting clays
>>34136708
You sure about that?
I thought Windham is shit.
>>34136739
Different anon. You're the first I'm hearing diss them since they split off the original Bushmaster.

Midlength gas system, as opposed to carbine.
Carbine gas system is best on 14.5" barrels (Milspec M4 length)
Midlength gas is best on 16-18" barrels.
Most ARs sold here are 16" barrels because of ATF regulations concerning short barrel rifles. I don't know if you have similar laws in place, but either get a 14.5" carbine or a 16" Midlength if you can

>What's a middy gas?
Mid-length gas system. Between rifle and carbine length, the theory is it's closer to rifle length which the Ar was designed for meaning less issues with gunk building up in the bolt, etc.
>>34135703
Yeah nah. WW makes a great AR.
>>34136407
>>34136708
Windham is a good company, no idea why they're bad mouthing them but they are not Bushmaster affiliated. I'd easily take one of an M&P
>>34135696
given that they're the same price, both are equally suitable picks OP. There isn't going to be much appreciable difference between the two.
>>34135712
Not too long ago ARs were expensive as fuck, how quickly we forget
>>34135696
Windham.
Mp15s aren't bad, but Windham has more history behind their product.
I'd venture to say their qc is of a higher quality then the cookie cutter MP series.
