whats the best 9mm handgun for pleasant and comfy target shooting and home defense
i was thinking cz 75 sp01 am I wrong
If hammer, SP01. If striker, G17 or M&P9 (determine w/ preferred grip angle).

does hammer really matter? after the first trigger pull, doesn't the cz-75 effectively become striker fired/single action

look at rugers - sr9 sr9c 9e american
awesome triggers low cost reliable and
MADE IN USA

Yeah. I swapped over to glock from my CZ because competition rules require da/sa guns start w/ hammer down. I would look into a 9mm 1911 if you're not competing.
For target shooting alone, a Colt O1992 with the Series 80 firing pin safety removed and one of those spacer plates installed. The CZ75 SP01 is pretty boss though.

Striker is closer to double action, the hammer will be a lighter and shorter pull (generally).

If you had a PWS Glock slide you would have all the deliciousness of a 1911 triggerr with the capacity and ease of use of a Glock (albeit without a manual safety, so you'd best keep it in Condition 3 and/or holstered for home defense).

Walther P99
also I forgot to mention me and my dad will be using this handgun with me when we go target shooting so i need something ezmode or retard proof
obviously im not going to let him use it without teaching him gun safety and drilling safety into his head but are there any good models that have loaded trigger indicators and arent shit
>>34133374
There are Factory SAO CZ models.

everytime people come into the shop asking for a gun for target shooting AND home defense I ask them what their weighting is
most people then say well 99% for target shooting (obviously)
so I tell them to get a CZ and maybe upgrade it to the SAO trigger
you can still defend yourself with it, but you have a much nicer time on the range

Thanks anon you pretty much confirmed what I suspected. What specific cz do you recommend
>>34133744
just get any of the fullsize metal models
the SP01s have a nice front heavy feeling because of the long dustcover
but any fullsize metal CZs is fine
don't fall for the plastic shit if you don't intend on carrying it
if you have big hands then maybe consider the Tactical Sport models
they have a wider frame
if you have normal hands then just get one of the various 75s

Not really. CZ Sp-01 excels at both of those. Grand powers do as well. The Sp01 would likely handle recoil better due to it's weighting and being all steel but IMHO the GPs tend to have better fit/finish and also better triggers out of the box than production CZs.

One of the prominent youtube dinguses did a video on them recently and had some sideways comments relating to the odd safety.
