That said, it's kinda true. There was never any "real" communism because it's literally impossible to create a true communist society on a large scale. Small, primitive tribes with no concept of private ownership where everyone knows each other are probably as close to real communism as it gets.

Communism sounds very noble on paper, but it just doesn't translate well into reality. Ending world hunger sounds very noble too, but achieving it by killing the hungry doesn't.
