sup /k/

how do i make my glock19 more fun to shoot?

my aim sucks ass and bullets are expensive (100 for 20 bucks doesn't last that long).

also what distance should i be at for target shooting? isn't an enemy usually about 10 feet away anyway?

pic related, it's my gun
>>
>>34123423
You will get better by shooting more, then you have more fun and shoot more.

It's a slippery slope, and you already are on it. Embrace it /k/ommrade.
>>
>>34123423
Replace the trash sights.

Replace the trash trigger

Replace the trash springs

glocks aren't a very performance heavy pistol. your distance it up to you. I would start at 5 and walk it back as you get better.
>>
100 rounds should last a little while as long as you're not constantly mag dumping. At least long enough to start improving yourself. Just get out shooting more and buy ammo online.
>>
>>34123423

Number one problem I see with pistol shooters is anticipating recoil and flinching. Practice dry firing with a quarter on the front site until you can do so without it falling off. Replicate that when you go to the range. Nice smooth trigger pull straight back. You know the round is coming, keep focused on the trigger pull and it will help with accuracy.

Also, install a 3.5# disconnector in the Glock, it makes the trigger much nicer.

haha, this is my first gun and i actually like it a lot, but i did buy a 22 bolt action rifle and that's way more fun to shoot - but at a farther distance.

i just want to enjoy pistol shooting more :)

also, what ammo websites do you guys use? bulkammo?
>>
Only load 3-5 bullets at a time. Appreciate your marksmanship and identify why your shot wasn't perfect after every shot. Next shot you focus on correcting that error. By the end you're remembering everything from breathing to trigger pull and stance.

You don't. Glocks aren't fun to shoot. They're designed to be practical guns, not fun shooting guns.

That's right
Buy a Glock
Replace the whole fucking thing one part at a time

Glock isn't supposed to be fun to shoot. No polymer frame striker fired carry gun is going to ever be "fun" to shoot and glock is the worst of all about being boring. It's entirely utility. It's like hoping to have some fun in the Toyota Corolla company car. It does it's job well and honestly if you suck at shooting it, you probably just suck at shooting and I doubt a trigger kit or anything of that nature would help you at all. It's not like you're shooting an SD9VE or VP70. The Glock trigger is by no means a match trigger but anyone who is complaining about their groups at 10 yards with it just doesn't know how to shoot properly. Based on your assessment that 100 rounds doesn't last long enough for you, I'd assume you're not even aiming. Probably just seeing what kind of groups you can get it you magdump to simulate some high stress shooting scenario as if you have any kind of base built up in shooting accurately to even be bothering with that sort of training.
>>
>>34125603
Rubbish. I enjoy shooting with my Glock.

I would say get a drop-in trigger from Ghost. Cheap, easy, and a huge improvement over the original. As for fun shooting, pick targets that move like beer cans, hugs of water, or old TVs (if you're not on open land they make hanging steel targets you can set up on ranges)
>>
>>34123531

>>
Practice as much as you can. Shooting will be more fun when you can hit the target. That said, also get targets that are fun to shoot. Paper is good for trsting accuracy but shooting steel or clay pidgons is a lot more fun.
>>
>>34123423
Go to the googles, youtube, ect. Learn how to shoot a pistol. Take a class or 2. Remember the name of the game is the front sight. Squeeze the trigger slowly. Don't be a spas. Practice shooting a 2 inch dot at 7 yards. Only shoot as fast as you can aim and hit that dot. If you shoot outside that dot slow down. As you constantly hit the dot speed up. Miss again, and slow down. Your glock is fine.
>>
>>34123423
Get rid of your shitty Glock 19 and buy a real gun!
>>
>>34123423
Practice with snap caps and a laser.
>>
>>34123482
>buy more shit to put on the gun instead of learning how to shoot

Do dry fire practice and actually stop to aim when you pull out the live ammo. Shoot at all the distances, there is not a magic distance that everything stands at before it's a threat.

Gradually push the target further back if its too easy to make one big glorious hole. I can finally hit a target at 25 yards with my makarov so now I'm going to try tighten my groupings.

This.

You can try having someone load a dummy round randomly into a mag and watch you closely as you fire each shot. You'll then know if you're flinching when you shoot the dummy round and nothing happens (except maybe you yank the muzzle up/down/sideways.)

consider a NY2 trigger spring and Glock 17 trigger assembly
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/753463
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/169922 (gen4)
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/100427475 (gen1-3)
the NY2 is smooth and heavy like a DA revolver trigger and will highlight any faults in your trigger control, and the 17 trigger has a non-serrated face that won't tear up your finger as much as the one the 19 comes with
maybe put some orange nail polish (or equivalent) on your front sight so you can see it better
>>
>>34127449
also, the 25¢ trigger job is legit, do it

Nothing is wrong with stock glock except it's sights and the fact that it's a glock. Read some articles or watch some youtube on improving your shooting, dry fire practice, next time you go the the range start at 3yds and work your way back once you can reliably make fist sized groups.

If you can group 10 shots at 8" diameter plate at 25 yards you are finally, a "good" shooter.

anything less than that is honestly, fucking pathetic, and you should fix yourself. If you can't do that with a bone stock Glock 19 you suck, and you should just admit it yourself that you suck instead of justifying it with stupid bitch ass excuses

I have a glock 19 gen 2 that I inherited from my late grandfather. It was his carry gun and now its mine. It's completely stock and I love it and shoot it all the time and carry it all the time and it just fucking works. Why the fuck do so many retards on here and especially reddit like to rice up their glocks?

I do have other auto pistols to compare it to; a beretta 92fs and model 1935.

There isn't any blood or anything, it's just really uncomfortable and the 17Gen4 trigger bar assy is a $17 drop-in part so there's no reason not to.
Besides, it's how the FBI took their compact Glock pistols, so it's not like I'm alone in this.

Get less poor. Buy more ammo and shoot more often. Once youve put 1000 rds through it you should be a decent shot

Buying more ammo is always gonna be cheaper than making upgrades

Dry-fire is free, a NY2 trigger spring is $2, and a 100 mL bottle of Flitz polish is $10.

>grip tape
>better trigger
>better sights

That's all you really need. I've done two out of the three so far.

I did the NY1 trigger spring with the 3.5lb connector and immediately noticed better groupings. It also makes dry fire so much more satisfying.
>>
Dawson Precision has some awesome sights, ATEi has some totally awesome, and highly functional mod options.

I would say sights first, then practice practice practice.

Start at 5yds, work your way back incrementally.

dot torture is good.
