Is this an "official" ak pistol muzzle break like the a2 birdcage for the ar?
Where did it come from? What's it's story? How do you get one? Should you get one? Why is it shaped like that; what's it do? Does it mean something if you have it on your ak pistol?
I'm getting an ak pistol.

It increases back pressure for reliability. I myself really want an AK pistol but I know I should not want one. I would like to try using a sling as forward tension.

Not sure what you mean but there is no such thing as an "official" AK pistol, unless you mean subcompact AKs.
Then which, yes, that is the standard brake for the M92 and subcompact AKs usually have "cone" type brakes as well.

Okay, so if a factory ak pistol doesn't come with one I guess it should not have one put on it?
that's called a krinkov, from the krinkov

Thank you
>>34123157
it's not a brake it's a booster
>>34123191
Tension on the sling doesn't really help that much. Just get a brace and shoulder it.
>>34123261
You can if you want, it's all about your taste. It will work fine without one though. I have a birdcage on my draco since that's what's on the AIMR
>>34123300
I worry about peening and will want it to run as "softly" as doesn't hurt reliability.
This is good info though. If I get reliability issues, might pick one up.

It's not gonna peen unless the heat treat was fucked up somehow. It will be fine. The only hangups I have had were all ammo related. The only noticeable difference will be the flash goes from a pumpkin-sized ball to a more cylindrical flame

>Just get a brace and shoulder it.
Was so close to buying an m92 the other day with this in mind. Too bad I just cashed out for an SLR104 2 weeks ago and I'm a broke piece of shit...
>>34123463
Take that nub off dude, it;s just to keep the charging handle from poking out the box
>>34123606
maybe he likes the feel?
>>34123463
>heat treat was fucked up
This meme needs to fucking die already.
It has zero to do with 'heat treat" and everything to do with the geometry of G2 hammers.
>>34124361
What hammers don't?

Generally surplus, or properly reprofiled ones.
More than a couple guys like the profile on the RAK, but I have no personal experience with it.
Light reading material, although I'm sure there's plenty more

I love mine. I notice barely any distance in boosting but it does indeed narrow out the massive 2 foot fireball that the M92 PAP throws. Without it, you get a huge blinding flash in your site picture.
The best actual functional brakes for SBR AK's are definitely the Bulgarian ones. I love the unique Krinkov look, though.

Barely any boosting****
I.E. ROF/cycling time
>>34125542
This is exactly what I'm planning but for this model because it was the only one I could find in stock anywhere.
>>34123191
I tried that with my m92 ak. It doesn't work very well. Brace is the better albeit far gayer option.
>>34125542
I have that brace on my 9mm AR and love it. How does it work on your AK? I've been thinking about doing this exact same setup myself.
>>34126173
Not at all, it gives you something that is basically a stock while still falling under the category of a pistol which comes with a lot of advantages over being a NFA item or even a rifle. I think its ideal
>>34128354
A Brace can be used as a stock.
>>34123568
AK pistols aren't cheap anymore
You're be better off just getting an AK rifle
Fucking Dracos are selling for $699
>>34125542
Do you have the Century brace to compare to the Galil brace?
I like the look, but I would like a longer brace because I have longer arms
