>want to buy a revolver for gf who got her cc
>its fucking huge and the only place she could hide it would be her purse
>400 bucks

Meanwhile the small semi autos could fit in her pants and small wrist purse easily. Are revolvers going to soon be kill?

>pushing revolvers on women

you realize she's never going to carry it right?
>>
>>34106485
Soon? They're already a novelty. Special purpose MAYBE if your pockets are big enough.
>>
>>34106485
Does she ever call her purse a fanny?
>>
>J-frame
>huge

It's smaller than a Shield. It's about the same size as a G42 but easier to conceal due to not being a block that screams GUN HERE if it prints through your clothes.

The only guns smaller and lighter than a J-frame are either derringers, novelties like a Seecamp, or tiny automatics chambered in calibers with questionable terminal ballistics. Considering that most people, women included, are capable of easily concealing a G19, I would just tell you and your girl to try harder.
>>
I'm about to fall for the revolver meme
Convince me not to do it
>>
>>34106868
They are a good choice if you want a small handgun with decent firepower and great reliability or a large handgun with incredible firepower. Service sized revolvers will still get the job done, but their advantages don't outweigh their disadvantages compared to a good modern autoloader.

>buying a j frame for a girl that presumably doesn't shoot a lot

You're a fucking retard and an asshole. At the least buy a G42, something that is actually shootable but you got her one of the most difficult guns to shoot.

That is easily the smallest of the 3 pistols I carry most often.
>>
>>34109453
You're a dude

Any woman under 120 lbs is not going to be able to carry a G19 unless she is wearing men's clothing
>>
>>34109517
G19?
>>
>>34106485
Tell your girlfriend to stop wearing tight clothing.
Get a better job.
Or get a semi auto, just because it doesn't fit your girlfriend's situation, doesn't mean it's an obsolete weapon.
>>
I also find a 642 with +p recoils at least 3X as much as a lcp. I love carrying revolvers but they may not be the best choice for a novice.
>>
Probably trolling but - A 12oz revolver with a 2 finger grip is not huge. $400 for a revolver that isn't made in South America is not expensive. The SW and Ruger standard airweights in .38 stay at around 350-400. Different calibers and options add to the cost but the basic bitch lcr with a copper cylinder is under 400.
>>
>>34106868
>>34106885
Are revolvers really a meme? I've pondered the idea of CC at some point in the future mainly because there are practically no ranges close by to justify buying a rifle for fun. (I'm nogun)
I figure a handgun would fulfill my lust for a gun while being something I can easily transport to the range and use for self defense should the need arise.
I wish I could see past the heavy biases; I don't know shit about calibers and there are so many different handguns out there. But I figure a revolver would be a safe choice. Less moving parts, no magazine to malfunction, and if the extremely rare instance where I needed to defend myself arose, would I really need more than 6 rounds? I don't live in a dangerous area so I'd probably only carry on occasion, so maybe a revolver would be quicker to grab-and-go out of the carrying case, no real need to inspect/clean it after a long period of storage.
But since it's a gun I'd plan on keeping for many years with no need to upgrade, maybe a modern autoloader wouldn't become even more "obsolete" I guess you could say in the long run?
>end of ramblings
>>
>>34110079
12oz revolvers are fucking painful guy. 18oz+ is where it's at. They're pretty much the same size anyways.
>>
>>34106485
What is a holster?
>>
>>34111752
the OP 642 is about 16oz loaded which is probably why they call them airweights, but they are definitely not huge which was the point.
>>
>>34112510
Aren't they stainless? Thought all those were like 20+
>>
Is there anything stopping people from designing a pistol that feeds shotgun shells from a box mag?
>>
>>34106485
>642
>huge

wat

The thing is small enough to fit in a pants pocket
>>
>>34106485
The Ruger LCR is pretty small
>>
>>34110177
Revolvers have more moving parts than an automatic man. With factory mags any normal autoloader is every bit as reliable as an average revolver unless we want to split astronomical hairs here.

Get a revolver if you want one, they'll do the job just fine.
>>
>>34112901
The fact that they're half the size of the pistols themselves if you use an effectively sized one?
>>
>>34112901
Anything above .410 is a destructive device. As for a semi auto in .410, nothing is stopping anyone from doing it, but it's still a very dumb idea. I guess you could adapt a Desert Eagle to fire it
>>
>>34106627
>most people, women included, are capable of easily concealing a G19

Are you 300lbs or something?
>>
>>34113055
>every bit as reliable

When was the last time you had a revolver stove pipe ot double feed?
>>
>>34112528
The "airweight" versions are aluminum framed and have a weird atom rollmark. The LCR is mixed aluminum/polymer which is why it gets so ridiculously light. Women really seem to like the LCR despite the recoil.
>>
>>34116046
The Aluminum Airweights don't have the Atom roll mark.

The Scandium/Titanium Air Lites do
>>
>>34116046
>>34116066
Aluminium. Neat.
>>
>>34106485
what is the flashbang holster
>>
>>34116066
Right, sorry. I forgot about those. Anyone have any experience with the Scandium frames?
>>
>>34106485
Revolvers for ccw were kill long ago.
>>
>>34116442
then how come we're seeing new ones from Kimber, Ruger, S&W and even goddamn Colt?

revolvers were only kill as duty guns, specifically the K-frame ones. But j-frames are still very popular among civilians. This is fact
>>
>>34116126
It's the middle of summer

Not everyone's gf is obese or an autist.

Women are wearing light clothing that exposes more of the mid drift area now. Much more than someone can hide even an lcr in
>>
>>34116469

The ease of operation alone keeps then alive as a carry piece.

Also hunting. When is the last time you saw someone go moose hunting with a semi-auto pistol?
>>
>>34119385
10mm is popular for white tail and smaller
>>
>>34114143
Are you under 5'6" or something?
>>
>>34106485
Women need to pick out their own pistol or they will never carry it/ be comfortable with it.
>>
>>34109517
I'm a 120 man who wears woman's clothing and carries a p6? whats your point.
