His paranoia has led him to believe that I made both of those posts, one from my phone and one from my laptop. I don't know why that would be necessary, since they're over a minute apart, but maybe he is closely watching the IP counter to try and detect samefagging. More dakka is always more fun.
If you have a dong, 40s might be a little harder to load quickly.
But 2 boxes of ammo per mag satiates my OCD nicely.
>>

The "Bed factory" joke on pg 141 is great.
>>
>>34102142

That is my main concern. Red army standard is what's around, so two boxes of 20 in each magazine is just...perfect.
>>
>>34102187
To be fair, 3 boxes in 2 30s is just as nice.

It's because bot quality control has stepped up on them considerably, and there are now much shittier (RAS) rifles now on the market.

The WASR has always been a reliable yet low-medium quality rifle that everyone has always shit on because it was fun.

Now that people are pushing an actual piece of shit onto the market people are learning to appreciate what they had all along.

they ran out of the clinton ban era receivers so they dont have to dremel them out anymore which means the wobbly mag problem is over and they got their shit together on the canted sights too.

That's what I've been hearing, regarding the quality control.
Been thinking about picking up another AK to build a SBR/AK104 "clone" on. I've owned a Saiga, SLR-107F and a SSR-85C-2, but traded them all off except the SSR. Almost seems like I skipped a step of being an AK owner in not ever having a WASR.

It'll treat you well and feel great to fire, but IMO they're a tad overweight for anything intermediate caliber. Not a big deal though.
As far as muzzle devices, I think they look best with rpk style flash hiders. Just make sure you don't get an rpk-74 style flash hider unless you are going to "open" it up, it'll blow your gun up because the hole is only 22cal. Pic related, 22cal rpk-74 flash hider vs one that allows for 30cal that I got off of cnc warrior.

For the money, an Aimpoint M2 is pretty solid. If you want to go lighter, there's always the Holosuns as well.

I wouldn't feel terrible about putting one on a cheap AK, but I always kinda side-eye people who drop $1500 or so on custom CZ Scorpion Evos and whatnot and then throw a fucking Holosun or something cheaper on top of it.

I mean I guess you could install it in a normal trunnion but it'll require sending it off to someone who knows what they're doing. It'll be pricey though, ~$200 for the trunnion plus another few hundred for the work to be done. There's really no reason to actively search out and shell out the money for a 5.5mm folder unless you're specifically wanting to clone a modern Russian gun. Unless you specifically want a 5.5mm folder just get an SLR and settle for a 4.5mm folder

Should be, other than the fairly significant downsides of 54r veprs like single stack low cap mags, 54r being more expensive than 308 for noncorrosive plinking, and not nearly the ammo selection.
Aside from having a hard-on for the 54r mag shape or keeping hopes up for cheap surplus 54r to flood the market again, there's pretty much nothing the 308 won't do better for you though.
>>34108811

Honestly the Gameboy Advance is one of my favorites, there are so many incredibly fun games for it. I'm also a huge fan of Metroidvania type games and the GBA has three great Castlevania games and two great Metroid games, on top of countless great RPGs. I wish handhelds today had as much good stuff as the GBA had, they're a lot more kid focused today with more childlike titles. I really like handheld systems, it's nice not being confined to the desk or couch or whatever especially when it's a really slow day at work and you can just sneak out some vidya

>>34109725
Yeah those three are ones I still play a lot of, except I only have Advance Wars 1 and not 2

>>34109802
It's all yours if you pay for it and don't offer me another vz.58 like three other people have

Some nigga on the Files wants me to call him about it, I don't want to talk on the phone with some random guy

>>34109820
I was tempted to sit on mine for that but I really just want it built so I can cherish it. If I buy another I think I'll sit on it though, I'm already looking at around $2000 altogether for the completed rifle and paying that much again for another of the same gun just with a triangle folder seems kind of pointless even if it would be cool, so I think buying at least one more just to sit on isn't an unwise thing to do

>they're not from as interesting a period
Take it back

Honestly I think it's a pretty cool period, right at the end of the Soviet's war in Afghanistan and right before the end of the Soviet Union but maybe I'm biased because the collapse of the USSR is something I've always found interesting
>>
>>34109860
Well, advance wars 2 is just 1 with more maps, characters, and a few new units. I don't remember exactly how different it is across the board, but it's great stuff.
It's worth getting if you love one, and it's probably cheaper than a cheeseburger on ebay.
>>
>>34109820
They will go up once they dry up, but I agree, I doubt they will rise at the rate of the 83 kits. For several reasons. The 83 kits are older and older usually demands more. The 83 kits are wood, and it's a lot harder for wood to travel through several decades of storage and transport while remaining flawless and gorgeous than for plastic to do the same. And they have three extra serialized parts over the 88s, which are hen scratched on. The 88 kits are great but the 83 kits are fabulous. The furniture on mine is in such good condition that I'm paranoid about sending it off. I might send it off with plastic US furniture as a holdover until I get it back.

I want to get an 88 kit to go with my 87, and have one fixed and one folder. That was the original plan, but it would be very frivolous so I've not been able to convince myself to buy one.
>>
>>34109860
Historically, they're interesting, sure, but from the perspective of AK-74 development the '83 has a lot more going for it than the '88, since it was closing in on the end of wood furniture and bakelite grips were about to go away too. Best of luck with your build; I think mine has climbed into the $2200-2300 range, but I'm also converting my kit into a folder.
>>
How much are arsenal slr107cr's worth nowadays?
>>
>>34109998
Not as much you people try to sell them for.
>>
>>34109889
If I were to put a WTB add up for an early Soviet one piece AK74 brake, do you think I'd be able to find one and if so do you have any idea how much I'd be forking over for one?

>>34109889
I've paid a little more than needed so far as I bought another triangle for it and the 4.5mm hardware before deciding on going fixed, not sure if I want to buy a 4.5mm trunnion just to have the complete set even if I don't think I'll ever have a use for it at least not anytime soon or just sell it and get some money back

I don't know if you know how excited I am to see your complete build and I know I'm not the only one who shares that excitement. It's gonna be really cool. I'm legitimately stoked for you to finally get it back from Meridian just so I can see pics of it on some weeb website
>>

>107FR + FSGB + (hassle X factor)
>>
>>34110034
No, I've never seen one for sale. You'll just be taking up marketplace space for no reason. It's likely that one day some will pop up randomly, similar to how the early style triangle folders and prototype krink boosters did. But there's no way to predict that so you just have to hope you're lucky enough to see them when they're up.

The second part of your post is meant for 83 AKS anon? My 83 is still safely in my safe.
>>
>>34110078
That's what I was 99% sure of, I just really want one to finish my collection and I'm trying to cope with the fact that it's highly unlikely I'll ever find one

>The second part of your post is meant for 83 AKS anon?
Yes, it's been neat being around with him posting about its progress and now that it's finally coming to a close I'm excited

>My 83 is still safely in my safe
That's what you think, just wait until my Chimps brand Chimps leg hair wicca spells come into their full effect and suddenly it'll be in my safe

Picked mine up today in person and they all look great.
The rust comes right off of the bad ones, the good ones are pretty, and the mags are all in good working order.

I'd say buy with confidence.

He said he's shipping most stuff out tomorrow/Thursday.
Being only an hour away I decided to just take the time to drive down there and save the shipping cost/waiting 3-4 days.

They all look nice, the followers are fine; everything's in working order.

He even came out of his building with a screwdriver so I could test any of them that I wanted to ensure the followers worked properly.
>>
why does the buyers guide say not to buy an AMD65? been looking into getting one as a second AK and they seem pretty solid.
>>
>>34110532
Most AMD65s you'll get now are the Classic Arms builds, which have a barrel hardness on average around 5-6 RC.

A typical, normal AK barrel has a barrel hardness closer to 28-30 RC.
>>
>>34110456
Yeah but knowing my luck I'll miss out. The only one that I'm aware of in the US is Tantal's, and if Tantal is the only one who's gotten his hands on one then I can't imagine what he went through to finally find one considering the other rare stuff he's got
>>
>>34110544
holy shit really? what's the barrel life on them? 5 rounds lol?
>>
>>34110532
>>34110544
The TGI imported SA2000m built ones are GTG though. They have Hungarian barrels. Only downside is that they're cut down 16" barrels and TGI did a shit job at threading the muzzle. Mine and a few other's have had issues with wobbly nobs
>>
>>34110605

At first I thought it twas the muzzle extension but even when I replaced it and had the new one welded on it still had a bunch of movement. I'm debating on sending the thing off to Two River Arms or someone else and having the thing rebarreled and done right. Alternatively I might just have it rebuilt into a cancerous AKM clone or something. Have the rear trunnion removed, weld up the receiver, put an underfolding stock on it, normal 16" barrel, normal AKM gas block, etc. Still not sure though

Figured that this would be a good as place as any to ask, but Im thinking about getting a WASR 10 soon. Ive seen alot of horror stories about canted front sight and trunions, as well as gas tubes. I have heard that Century has fixed alot of these problems since 2015, but they still occur. My question is does anyone know what chance I would have that I get a decent one if I order online?
>>
>>34111328

WASR is best AK on market next to arsenal. Get it.

>>34111328
Order from Atlantic firearms if you want to make sure of no unreasonably canted sights. They do a quality check on the rifle before shipping
