Present to me a situation where you would be better defending yourself with a sword rather than pulling our your service pistol or backup weapon. Also have fun sprinting after people and riding in a car while wearing a sword.

It would be a better use of resources to train anti-riot cops in the use of Sarissas and macedonian phalanxes to agument the usual shield walls they use. This is specifically against the weaknesses of shieldwalls exhibited in Ukranian Maidan.
