Is the 1911 arguably the best looking pistol ever made?
If not, what is?
>>34085575
They used to call it "old ugly".
It's a matter of opinion.
But yes.
>>34085575

A matter of opinion indeed...for me it's between the 1911 and pic related.

Nah faggot it's a full length dust cover
Pretty sure it's a les Baer
>>34085582
Back when it was in competition with the Mauser and Luger. lol which is hilarious, the Mauser was made intentionally ugly because the designer wanted to resemble a wheelgun.
>>34085669
I like the decocker personally, way more ergo than the p226, and when I put g10 on it they came with torx screws. Trigger guard is tight yo. Aesthetic is personal tho, yours is tight as well
>>34085669
This one is my favorite smith
>3 inch model 19
To bad they're so rare - though you could just chop a 4 inch
>>34085628
Imo the Wilson Combat 92g looks so much better than a plain jane Beretta

This is the problem with arguing aesthetics. There's always somebody who really likes the weird shit.

It's a 3 inch meant for carry - I think the round butt magnas are very proportional but that's just me.
>>34085694
Wholeheartedly disagree, the beretta in your pic is missing the barrel which extends past the slide - very iconic imo.
Not a fan of the green vz grips though I'm sure they're very functional, same with the rail

Just me or does the automag have the same aesthetic of the Ruger P series?
>>34085757
There's nothing wrong with .22 magnum. I personally am not a fan of the .44's, they just look a little too sci-fi for me.
>>34085715
The 39 is an absolute sex machine, like a slender twinkish 59.
The blowback Berettas are some of my favorites personally, just look at this cutie.
It's like a shota 92 or a more boyish and developed 70 (which honestly is just as attractive as the 80 but for different reason)
>>34085782
I think the sci-fi look kills it for me
>>34085724
fucking hipster bullshit
I can't shoot 1911's worth a shit. Feels horrible. I wish people made artwork-tier CZ-75's.

Cz custom DID make a very good looking reproduction of their short rail model, but IIRC they were unobtainium and expensive as fuck. But it's cz we're talking about here, the same company that made a retro cz75 and actually fucking put "retro" on the slide.

>>34085852
Yeah, their special editions are gaudy as shit. The sporting type guns they and CZC tend to make are actually beautiful, but more in a harsher technical sense much more than a purely aesthetic one, probably similar to the difference between a cool looking 2011 race pistol and a handsome 1911.

Was about to post the mak. It's pretty cute in it's own right but in an entirely different sense then the pistols I posted earlier. It's like a scrappy, winsome urchin.
I feel similar sentiments to zastva's mini tokarev and sadly that's about it.
I don't think there's another eastern bloc blowback I'd describe as "cute"
how much rear sight deviation would you guys accept on a new gun?
my rear sight on my P-01 came about 1.5 mm off center, which isn't so bad but because the cz slide is so thin it is over the edge on one side and is kind of unaesthetic. It's hitting POA but that means it's sending rounds off to the side.
I had to buy online sight unseen because they are so hard to find.
How normal is this? Is it just cz quality control
If i'm being a little bitch boy please let me know

Either the sights are on POI which means the gun is shooting to the left, or they are off center
thanks for answering
>>34086239
Why don't you just drift it? I mean, it sucks that it came off center but I don't think I'd ever send a gun off for sight adjustment.

This.
I am not a fan of the after market grips that some Anon put on this, but just... just look at it.
How can you not stare at this fucking thing and not be in awe of its majesty?
Star, despite their obvious failing made some pretty comely firearms.
It kills me that they had to have been made with such awful steel.
The model S is probably one of the prettiest.
It's pretty much a twink 1911 and that concept alone should get any red blooded american male's dick twitching

The MR73 is an excellent design and is made from insanely durable metals.
The MR93, outside looking special, has none of that. It's basically a Ruger GP series revolver. Which isn't bad, but it's not special.
The MR73 is still in production at Chapuis Armes, but the MR93 has long since been discontinued.
I'll make a MR93 thread for you though. But I'm certainly not advocating it unless you want to be a snowflake for the purpose of being a snowflake.

>>34087158

No one cares about trigger discipline outside of ranges, stores, and movies/TV shows. I see you fucking idiots complain on Ian's channel all the time about how come he doesn't clear the chamber first on 200 year old guns like they are somehow going to have fucking live UXO in them.
>>34085852
The grips are kinda neat at least.
>>34087570
It isn't a manufacturer's error, that's just the finish wearing off from the slide. Since the CZ pistols all have slides that ride inside of the gun, this is what happens. People like to meme about them having shitty finishes too, but only the older 75's rust. All of the newer ones are parkerized and shit on the undercoats, the black just ablates with regular wear and tear like any gun with a finish does. Look at any handgun people use for CCW and you'll see what I mean, it's effectively the same sort of action. If this bothers you that much, get it ceracoated or some shit. It has no impact on the performance of the gun.
>>34085838
That pistol looks damn fun.

I doubt he means the bare metal. I think he means that the slide and frame are differently sized & thus look mismatched. Obviously doesn't effect function, but...
>>34087138
Best looking polymer pistol, including USP.
>>34087639
Unless he's some sort of outlier, that's exactly what he means. CZ has a well known history of people complaining about their finishes. You can tell someone bought an older 75 for instance if once the black wears off it begins to rust fast as hell. They still only put pretty much the barest of coats with their black "polycoat" on the outside, but have taken steps to make sure that they don't rust like that anymore. I am sure they'll still rust, but it won't be something that happens quite so fast. And again, you can do any number of things to restore the finish these days so it's a moot point.

Because they haven't been imported because they basically have the ballistics of 7.62x39 at 100 yards and the ATF REEEEEs at anything armor penetrative and pistol related.
Also they cost like $5000
The S&W model 1066 (not 1006)

They are big and heavy and everyone is used to their subcompact poly pistols now to the point where a Glock 19 is considered a 'heavy full-sized pistol.' They also take effort to maintain whereas something like a Glock can be beaten against a table a few times to fully disassemble and sprayed with Crisco before being reassembled by dropping it into a trash can and shaking it.
>>34090067
You forgot to mention that it can only be chambered in 10mm
>>34087532
>The MR93, outside looking special, has none of that. It's basically a Ruger GP series revolver. Which isn't bad, but it's not special.
That's the MR88 which was straight up a security series frame with a manurhin barrel and cylinder. The MR93 went on from there to be almost a fully automated production gun
>>34087663
Nah, it's the slide rail protrusion. Nobody gives a shit that it's worn since that's expected on every gun.

Well, the thread I made about the MR93 already got pushed off, but if you look at the internals of the MR93, it's still based on the MR88 (and even shares a few parts), just optimized for automated production and having rather unique looks.

>>34092813
If they're unlocked you need a heavy as fug slide or bolt. See our old friend the hi point for a prime example.
Without a heavy as fug you have a very sharply recoiling gun that beats itself up every time it fires at best and at worst you have a goddamn grenade
>>34092813
9x19 has too much pressure for a blowback pistol of reasonable size. Hipoints are blowback which is why they look like brutalist architecture instead of handguns. The slide has to be heavy as fuck to delay the slide movement long enough to prevent all hell breaking lose
