Is the m&p shield /k/ approved as a daily carry gun? Gander has their firearms 10% off which combined with the rebate brings it to about $325. Buying it for my wife.
>>
>>34075959
Yes. Dry fire before you buy to make sure it fits your hand.
>>
>>34075959
Yep.
>>
Fuck S&W, and Springfield. Traitors to gun rights, both of them. They'd sell you a gun today even if it meant you'd lose all your children's rights.

Get a glock.
>>
>>34075959
>/k/ approved
That's... not something that holds merit.

But that is an adequate firearm for ccw.

$284.99 on gunbroker right now.
The PK380 is the easiest to rack the slide ever for ladies and manlets with weak wrists.

It's an ok pistol. Awesome for 275-325 bucks. I don't carry mine because the grip length is 99% that of my G19 and if its gonna print anyway I might as well have 7+ extra rounds in the magazine.

How is S&W a traitor to gun rights? Not challenging you, just genuinely curious. I heard about Springfield, but not S&W.
>>
>>34076006
Story? I like your enthusiasm. I try to research companies that I have a choice in the industry of before buying. Unfortunately, of what you're saying is true, I already got a Shield cuz it's American and I'm white. Glock with always be a nigger gun to me. Not the mags, just the guns. But companies fucking over their customers have no place in my house, hence why I don't buy HK or care anything for.
>>

Everything they make is fine except for their revolvers with those goddamned hillary holes.

The .45 is much nicer to shoot than the 9mm
>>

Sounds like a "if you it can't beat em, join em" scenario. Bill "hold her tighter, she's a fighter" Clinton made it difficult for everyone and was only riding out the fruits of the economic boom Reagan created and Bush Sr. fostered which is why the deadbeat politicians got behind him in droves. It seemed like free market capitalism was fucked for a time. Now HK, they weren't pushed up to the wall on anything...
>>
>>34076474
It was a total cuck move.

oh d-d-dear maybe if we cuck our guns ourselves big daddy dick won't fuck us so bad.

Well yeah those british faggots that owned it at the time escaped the legislative noose only to see their investment disappear overnight. In the end they sold one of the greatest names in American gun making to a fucking lock company for $15mil.
>>
>>34075959
I wouldn't, I used to own a 9c and the trigger it (and the shield) comes with is just god awful. It's safety feature will cause it to randomly not work unless your finger is on it just right, and even after hundreds of rounds it was gritty as hell.

Personally I wouldn't have trusted the damn thing further than I could throw it. It jammed all the time too.

That said, try one out for yourself at the range. Who knows, maybe you'll find one that's ok, but I would say that swapping the trigger out is a must.
>>
shield 9 and 40s are sort of shit unless you dump some money into it IMO. The 45 has a lot of improvements (smoother slide, slightly better trigger, better grips, slightly better ergo for me due to size, stopping powah, etc).

For 9, I'd rather a 43 or a pps m2

Rundown on gun manufacturers

HK doesn't hate you. They are in part cucked by the German government, and import fees. For the most part, expensive, but generally an Ok tier company

SW cowtowed to gungrabbers with internal lock, however did not actively pursue gun control measures. Most of their guns don't do much for me. I am however a fan of the new Model 66 and 69.

Ruger was ran by a king fudd of sorts, ready to sell us down the river but never pulled the trigger on what he said. Their marketing of investment casting is good, but in practice eh. Ever owned a Mini 14 or M77 with uneven receivers? Tried your damndest to make those rings line up but they don't? I have. My LCP is made pretty rough, but it is reliable. However, good customer service in place of good QC isn't really a selling point for me. Had numerous AR556 come through my shop with issues, or revolvers with canted front sights.

Springfield threw in their lot with the gun control lobby. Loaded models of various guns generally ok. But their "active" pursuit of fucking the people of Illinois for their business instead of just fucking moving like Les Baer numerous others is reprehensible.

Rat River Arms has always been a name in AR's, why, however is beyond me. They did a few innovative things but never really made anything that was great. But they threw in their lot with Springfield.

So far Glock has not done much wrong in my eyes. I am however a little perturbed by their quiet redesigns of things like the 42.

I do appreciate SIG Sauers move to the US, but not a single thing they have made has ever done anything for me.

Colt is a poorly ran company that has literally always been a has been. Always pandered to Government contracts. Feeling the sting as their good old boys in Congress die off. Had some guns with serious issues come through my shop.

Freedom group is a bit of a clusterfuck. In general steer clear unless you really want a Marlin guide gun for some reason.

>HK doesn't hate you.

They do. Some things they do are inexplicable beyond being done to fuck you.
IE: The serial number location on the SL8. Nevermind all of the redesign they did, presumably to convert the G36 into the Sporting-only SL8 and satisfy German law, they also placed the serial number on the receiver in a place which requires you to also chop and hack at the G36 parts to make a window to see it, instead of putting it in a sensible place - ie, where it'd be on a god damn G36.
There's absolutely zero justification for that beyond "Fuck civilians"

Here's an image for your viewing pleasure.

Yes, it's $289 at Palmetto State Armory right now with the $75 rebate on top of that price. Might be worth the transfer fee. I just picked one up from their Summerville store yesterday.

Smith & Wesson is a fine gun company, don't let anyone tell you anything different. They aren't against your gun rights like some people say. New Jersey had a law on the books that when a "smart" gun was developed, smart guns would be the only legal guns in the state.

Needless to say, people who tried to introduce such a gun to market became deeply unpopular, and the usual suspects tried to spin it as "gun nuts hate progress"

A decent question OP. One that deserved an answer. It's a fine gun. There may be better, but don't let anons give you a feeling a buyer's remorse. Remember, they'll just call somebody a nigger-faggot anyway.

It's 2017 and people still parrot the whole "lololol HK h8s uuuu" bullshit as if they weren't the only company that stood up against the ATF in the 80's and 90's.

Now, we're seeing this shit with Springfield. What's even funnier is that gun owners will be the first to laugh at progressives that cry for gun bans whenever there's a shooting for being reactive kneejerking idiots that don't look into the facts while they're the same, screaming their heads off and only basing their judgements from what a headline says.

You could write up an article "Beretta discontinuing all handguns, 1301 shotguns and AR160 rifles in support of stricter anti-gun laws" with gibberish as the entire article and you will have a large number of people swinging from thread to thread crying about how Beretta is anti gun as fuck now.

There is a difference between a "basic field strip" which consists of separating the slide, recoil spring and guide rod, and the frame and what you did, which is more appropriately called a detail strip. The mag release is quite a nice feature for the SO. She's a bit clumsy and wants to be sure if the slide slips while removing the chambered round that the gun won't go off if the mag is out.

>>
>>34084927
they literally cannot import the rifles due to German laws.

They've been trying to get an American factory going for a while now to bypass their bullshit German laws. Essentially they can't sell anything "military" riflewise.

They're nowhere near the assholes most actual American companies are. Hell a lot of foreign companies treat american workers better and even stand up for our rights more than our "american" companies do. I mean think about it

>ruger
>Smith and Wesson
>Rock Island
>Springfield
>colt

all shit companies, screwed over Americans right and left and charge out the ass, while still outsourcing a lot of their designs to other countries.

On the other hand companies like CZ actually build their guns in America and provide them at a fair price, while being a foreign company.

American companies are a meme, accept it now and you'll be a lot happier for it. It wouldn't stop me from buying something like a 1911 if it was a good price, but I won't go out of my way to support most american companies in the gun business because most of the big names have gone to shit and are cheaping out in the worst ways possible.

I recently got an email from rock island armory urging me in detail not to confuse them with rock river , this was the banner. Poor fuckers

Why would you buy a gun without properly testing it's function before handing over your hard earned shekels?
>>
Can someone explain to me what Rock River arms did?

I saw one for $299 recently. Never buy from Gander Mountain.

Look at you, acting like you know how politics works. Moron.

Do me a huge favor, asshole. Go sit in front of a crazy bitch like Hillary and try to tell her what to do. Does Arkancide mean nothing to you? How ate these companies supposed to work with lunatic leftist politicians? Support gun companies or go to hell. You worthless commie sympathizer.

It feels like an m&p compact got rolled over by a steam roller. It's completely flat, no palm swell. Doesn't feel like it's made for human hands. The safety lever is flat also making it difficult to use unless you really dig your thumb bone into it. I compared it to the ruger LC9s and went with the Ruger.

Do you autists really completely disassemble and inspect every component before buying a popular new-in-box firearm from a big-name gun store?

Even if I had, I may not have noticed this without extensive knowledge of the Shield's individual components. I figure the pin would be kinda difficult to even see, as its pretty small and there is a spring wrapped around it.

>This, holy shit. My Apex'd Shield has what is hands-down the best trigger I've ever had on a striker-fired handgun.

I have heard ATEi's M&P trigger job is even better than an M&P with Apex parts

PSA has them cheaper.

>pawn, gun show and online

The whole "gun shows are incredibly overpriced" meme needs to die. Sure the sticker price is high, but its like /k/ doesn't know how to negotiate, especially on used guns.

Pic related, $625 from last weekend's gunshow

>Autists are good at some things, but not politics.

We just helped the entire world dodge a Clinton bullet by weaponized autism. Hold your tongue, serf.

I'd say go somewhere else than gander. Fuck them you can find a better deal. There's a reason they got bought out.

Yes, I break the firearm down as much as allowed to make sure it isn't a lemon. I work hard for my funbux.

Hk is the only company that fought against the original assault weapons ban you ignorant jackass. Smith and wesson and ruger took it like bitches and hk fought for everyones gunrights, even idiots like you.
>>
>>34084350
Lol you taking that from the hk bantz thread is funny.
>>
>>34084927
Maybe the quality isn't apparent to some lazy weekend warrior beergut dadjeans who shoots 300 rounds a year like you, yeah i bet your century ras 47 is as good as any saiga or arsenal bro.

I would say that fn is the shittier company for not being able to supply their fanboys with scars(which is the only good thing they make), their shits not banned so what's their excuse?
Muh mil contracts, pfff wank off.
More militaries field hk weapons than fn by a wide margin.

This, smith and wesson now is a different smith and wesson from the one who went almost bankrupt after fucking with the 2nd ammendment.
>>
>>34088456
yeah but one requires you sending you gun off while the other is a simple procedure anyone with basic knowledge and the right tools can do in under an hour. I did both of mine myself with no prior experience doing anything similar just by following some youtube videos.
