>Find another lgs if yours will not sell to you
>Buy online
>Make your own

I suggest buying a bulk online. The upfront costs are higher but you usually end up paying less per round. Use sites like gunbot and gun-deals to find the best price. If a site won't sell to you just move on to the next site.

You can try buying locally but you typically end up paying more per round. Most gun shops don't give two shits about .223 being a "pistol" round and will sell it to you. The only exception is if they recently got slapped by the ATF for something and they are following the letter of the law for a while.

The third option is to make your own. If you don't include the equipment or your time (a controversial cost factor), you save 1-2 cents per round compared to steel cased ammo. I don't really recommend making your own .223, since it takes tens of thousands of rounds before you recoup your initial expense in equipment.

I've only personally ever run Tula bc that's what my Walmart carries (and what they sell me by the hundred). Tulammo has never once failed me in my AR but I have seen some feeding issues with their pistol rounds (9mm and .40s&w).
