Thoughts on this?
How come most armies use iron sights when this exists?
>>34071808
nice volleysight mate.
>>34071808
Cost.
Fuddy Generals.
>>34071808
It's a grenade launcher sight.
>>34071824
Are you an idiot? That's the point. The question was why do other armies use iron sights on their grenade launchers.
>>34071850
Less maintenance intensive, more compact, easier to train. They're still new technology, they'll become more prevalent but right now its not worthwhile to mass adopt them.
>>34071823
>babbys first shitpost
>>34071850
bc most armies have neither the need for nor the prospect of doing something usefull with a top notch equipped and trained infantry. imagien what would happen if Germany or Mexico started kicking shit up around the globe in 3rd world countries. the US would not let this slide.
>>34071850
Because they work well enough and there are more useful ways to spend limited money.
War isn't just about small arms and grenades.
>>34071878
Mexico has enough problems in dealing with their own 3rd world sections.
>>34071808
You realize that's for shit like the revolving ones right?
>>34071902
thats used for underbarrel launchers usually.
dont talk about shit you dont know.
>>34071878
idf uses these.
I'm sure if you thought about it for more then 30 seconds instead of taking an Inrange video as undeniable fact then I'm sure you'd have the answer.
>>34071902
Nah, its spreading.
>>34071921
Actually i have friends using these.
>>34071850
It's a grenade launcher. You can afford to be a little inaccurate.
>>34071907
>idf uses these.
idf has carte blanche from the US my friend. they can do whateer they want and indeed they do.
>>34071808
Would you rather buy more guns and ammo or fancier gadgets for the ones you have? It all depends on the kindof soldiers you have.

How much are these?
I want one for my can cannon.
grenades only have to get close enough.
you can do that with a leaf slight just fine.
by the end of my first iraq deployemnt. I could get a greande through a door or window every time. really funny seeing an hadji grab a burning white phosphor round and throw it back out. I can't imagine his hand survived that.
>>34072097
1100 bucks
>>34071907
That's because the IDF needs the high accuracy of these sights when killing protestors with headshots from 40mm tear gas canisters and claiming it was an accident.
>>34071823
Look, a noguns faggot.
>>34071864
And, to be fair, a weapon with a 5 meter kill/130m casualty radius doesn't need sniper precision most of the time.
>>34071995
>>34072702
You guys are fucking retarded, the kill radius on most infantry-carried grenades is incredibly small and absolutely requires you to be on-target, especially for HEAT or door-busting rounds which have to impact the target directly.
>>34071823
>can't even spell
>calls service members retards
>>34074768
5 meters, and it causes severe wounds out to 25m
a fancy optical sight isn't going make you shoot any more precise or accurate. it just makes it faster to acquire the target.
good accurate M203 fire requires you to place the buttstock of the rifle on a hard surface and use it like a mortar.
>>34071808
Same reason as always. The performance of the current system is adequate enough that the benefits of an upgrade do not justify the cost.
>>34074957
You can at least carry the M320 in a holster with a shoulder stock.
>>34075038
2 people with a M203 on a M16a2/4 and you can basically pretend it is a mortar and fire off a lot of shots quickly.
one holds the weapon steady on the ground and keeps it pointed properly. the other operates the weapon.
I didn't care for the M320 as a separate weapon.
>>34072044
> that fucking video lol
/k/ goes to war
>>34071850
damn that flew clean over my head
