You're better off with something with better battery life, unless you're really into the reticle. I turned mine in for the refund and admittedly sort of want another one for my .300 which is just a range toy.

I own an eotech and sent in two of my old ones. I also own a holosun and have used an aimpoint Comp M4 extensively.

If you're fine with a small sized aperture just get a holosun, I haven't seen an objectively good argument for any premium small RDS. There are some good durability tests of the holosuns like from AK operators union that demonstrate they are capable sights.

If you want to consider rarer use cases like a large window that's better for magnifying or you want a sight that's better suited for use with night vision, get the EOTech and remember to change your battery when it starts blinking once a year.

AFAIK, SOCOM is testing other optics like Aimpoint Micro T-2's but hasn't come to a conclusion yet. SOCOM units are still using EOTechs on their SBR's from the pics I've seen.

Eotech is fine. The zero shifting issue was pretty fucking minimal and totally overblown. Once something goes viral on the internet it becomes a much bigger problem than it originally was, they did the buyback to save face.

If you read the actual complaint it says the sight drift was in temps over 120 degrees. I live and operate my EXPS-2 in death valley, ca. Have not experienced any issues

i know vortex is coming out with a eotech like holographic sight for half the price.

plust vortex has that vip warrinty that even if its your fault they fix it. havent had to use it yet but i hear there warranty progrom is the best in the biz

Thermal drift issue overblown, aimpoints drift almost as bad. Thermal drift wise, Trijicon MROs are the least susceptible.

Still the only true holographic sights out there.

More clunky than a traditional RDS but not by much. They're great sights still.

There's no need to spend more than like $100-150 on a non-magnified or minimally magnified optic, unless you're mounting it on a full auto or a machine gun or anything else that will rattle it to death.
