Nope, I dont anticipate changing the geissele rail fir anything. I just like to have easy access to the barrel, gas block and tube should I ever need it. Mk8 locks up tight but comes off again in about a minute if needed. Thats a smart design. I had a URX4 and fucking hated it.

I've got pretty much everything ordered and it's in the mail. I was going to do a brownells retro upper and that's in the mail too but locally I found a really awesome dude at a tiny little gunshop who is going to sell me a Colt A1 upper for the same price so I'll return the brownells. Going to do an anderson lower and have it refinished by same based gunshop man. The rest is reproduction/newer parts but I think it'll look good when I'm done.

Based gunshop man said he'll help me a lot. Great guy, we talked for like an hour and he loves building retro ARs and milsurps. He carried an A1 in the 70s and I think he was really enthusiastic that someone like me in their 20s was so interested in OG M16s.
