what range does it have before it needs fuel?
how fast can it go?
is it loud?
>>34058082
300-400 miles a lot get
40 usually max
fuck yea
>>34058099
i dont like loud bikes,
some of the electric bikes they are making look cool and go pretty fast as well as being completely silent, however you do of course have the issue of having to recharge it which may be an issue in an emergency, and the good ones cost a lot

regular bicycle for me
gas goes stale, and it's easier to produce a pound of beans than it is to refine gas
working on putting a wood gasifier on my old econoline van though.
Ill be riding this through the woods to the next stop

been there, done that
Fishing wire across road or path = instant catch of supplies.
Not saying I would do it but be aware you are as open as shit and going very fast into something that will remove your head.

>>34058483
how well would that actually work? we've all seen those old films, but I doubt you can rely on regular fishing wire to decapitate a grown man traveling at 20km/h
if you're actually at risk of ambush when on supply runs, never take the same route back.

The targets speed vs how you want it to work. secure to knock off, loose to saw. In WWII the British did similar with balloons and fishing wire against enemy planes.
Honestly if I road a motorcycle in SHTF, I would have a angled metal bar welded to the front reaching over my head.

Correction, Piano wire against planes.
Enjoy your 50lb cruiser shit when all the fuel turns to jelly and your pos $20 chinese motor won't run

desu senpai I'd go for a regular bicycle if I was you.
OP pic is a shitty dirt bike and a shitty bicycle not particularly good at being either.
Normal bicycle is quiet, cheaper, easier to fix, and if you really needed a vehicle with a motor you're better off with something else. Also, you could easily nig-rig a weed whacker or chainsaw motor to the bicycle at a later date if you have some mechanical knowledge.
TL;DR
Whizzers are gay and loud
>>34058752
Or find what those guys who cheat at the Olympics used. Had to have been silent as shit to get as far as they did.
even pro bmx tires need replaced after 1 race bro, good fucking luck

>gas goes stale
True, but it'd take years for it to get bad enough to not work in a small, low compression engine like those bikes have.
By then life would either be getting back to normal, or you'd buy/trade goods for a horse.
The gasifier is a cool idea though. I've been thinking about doing an LPG conversion for my diesel 4x4, but building a gasifier and slapping it on an old petrol car would definitely be more interesting.

That said, the thing about gas going stale does apply a bit differently to America, ethanol blended petrol is much more common over there than it is in Australia.
