Why the P-10 over the superior polymer firearms in it's price range like P320, SP2022, Glock 19/17/34, etc?
>>
>>34055601
The sigs are inferior, Glock has merit but doesn't really fit my hand. Canik SF is possibly a better trigger but that's like buying a Hyundai.

That is a pretty good grouping OP. Keep up the good work.
Also try stepping the target back to 15 or 20 and see how you do.
>>
>>34055876
Thanks buddy but I'm not there yet.
Most of my 10 shot groups at 10 yards are coming in 3 to 4 inches wide. I'll have 5 of them go through the 1 hole but then blow it with the other 5. The pictured one only had one "flyer", ergo best group of the day.
>>
You liking it so far? I'm looking at snagging one.

How can I get better at pistol shooting?

I can hit in the 10 ring (often bullseye) consistently with surplus bolt actions and iron sights at 25 yards but all my shots at 10 yards with pistol are to the left with a ~3-4 inch spread even though I dryfire every day. When I dryfire most of the time now my front sight stays dead center after trigger pull. The front sight used to end up left after the trigger pull. A month ago the shots were all over the place so I made some improvement...

It's 10 fucking yards
No point in even posting until 20-25+ yards
I mean for fuck's sake, your fucking arm takes up a yard.
>>
>>34058706
Did you zero your sights on a rest?

Also people look down on red dots, but they actually worked wonders for my accuracy.
>>
>>34058743
For the bolt actions I can hit like that offhand at this point. When from the bench I can consistently get bullseye.

For some reason pistol shooting is hard for me.

I honestly have trouble getting tight groups at 10 yards with a pistol. My eyes are pretty shit, etc. 7 yards I'm fine though.
>>
>>34058851
You're shooting a gun with a 50lb trigger, that shits hard to shoot accurately.
>>
>>34058858
You what mate? The single action isn't that bad. It's better than that fucking P-64, it it's 27lb DA.
>>
>>34058851

Dude it's a Makarov, they're not meant to be tack-drivers. They're built for shooting political enemies in the brain stem at an inch away.
>>
>>34058909
It was clearly an exaggeration anon, calm your tism. The fact is the trigger is heavy and it's hard to shoot accurately. The SA on my Colt is like 2.5 pounds. The mak I shot felt like 9+

I've got a S&W with ~14lbs DA, and I'm not a very strong guy, but if I loosen the mainspring, I start getting light primer strikes. Would a longer firing pin help, or should I just get stronger?
>>
>>34058980
Wolff makes spring kits that replace the main spring and rebound spring. I would start there. Is it a recent smith with mim internals or case hardened?
>>
>>34058990
S&W TRR8, so recent.
>>
>>34059002
well thats a nice revolver anon. start with the spring kit, if that doesnt get you where you need to be, you can get a trigger job done. or if you're a do it yourself kind of guy buy the fixture from power customs and diy

>>34055571

25 is perfect for revealing flaws in your trigger manipulation

>>34058851
I shoot better both eyes open rather than dominant eye and therefore with a "softer" sight picture yet I'm more accurate and consistent that way.
>>
>>34059096
also this helps. I do this pretty regularly.

I had this problem as a lefty. It turns out I was squeezing. I shifted my fingers back on the grip so that the front strap was not near any knuckles and that fixed it, as a lefty. Most people will tell you it's the amount of trigger finger you're using but that made virtually no difference for me.

>>34058438
I just posted in another thread but I think it needs broke in. The mag release is inconsistent with how hard you have to push it and sometimes doesn't want to push in hardly at all, same with the slide stop. The slide stop is interesting though, it forms a loop and the part that stops it is actually in the middle of the slide, it stops it on the part that would normally push the next round in. The slide stop has a lot of resistance to push it down most of the time, not always. The trigger is also a little heavy but the reset is so short. I bought the gun for the reset. I think it has a HUGE amount of potential. I think with a little polishing or hopefully just getting fully broke in, that will be my favorite gun.
>>
>>34059687
I changed the anoont of trigger I use so it's more like the pad of my index finger is on the trigger which is why my shots now end up on the black, but I can't seem to consistently get them centered for some reason.
>>
>>34060054
No clue if this matters for you but here's what I did.

I held the gun out at arms length.
Then I squeezed it real hard all of a sudden and looked to see how much the POA changed when i did that.
Then I rotated it around in my grip until I found a grip where the POA did not change when I squeezed.
What I ended up with a slightly awkward feeling, at first, grip that actually does give me more consistent groups.
I was a lefty shooting left though. If it's not your trigger finger, could be your support hand, IDK.

Good Luck.

That's par for the course with CZ unless you buy an P-01, SP-01, etc. I have a RAMI that's slide stop is so hard to release that I am honestly considering taking it to a smith to see what can be done. I have to use both hands to release the fucker while with my P-09 for instance, I can just use my index or thumb with minimal pressure.

I've owned these, an old 85b and a RAMI.

I hated the RAMI, too 1911 feeling for me, fine otherwise. None of them were nearly this "catchy" or "snappy" with the controls.
It's not a deal breaker though. Going to go back to the range again today probably.
